Giorgio Armani fashion legend will miss her two shows in Milan Fashion Week for the first time in his career.
The 90 -year -old Italian designer “is currently recovering at home,” said his company in a statement. His recovery follows a brief stay in hospital in Milan, the Italian media reported.
He had “worked with the usual dedication to the collections” and followed the men’s clothing emissions on Saturday and Monday remotely, added the company.
It is believed that this is the first time that Armani has missed one of his parade events, in a career that extends over five decades. Last year, he said he could retire in the years to come.
The shows next week will present the spring 2026 collections of its eponymous luxury brand.
Armani’s long -standing collaborator and chief design of male fashion, Leo Dell’orco, is now ready to give the closing arches.
Armani would be in a good mood and should attend the next shows of the brand in Paris at the end of June.
Founded in 1975, the brand celebrates its 50th anniversary next month – while Armani also celebrates its 91st anniversary.
Armani, also known as “Re Giorgio” – King Giorgio – built an empire in the luxury fashion industry.
Born in the city of northern Italy in Piacenza in 1934, he studied medicine before embarking on a career in fashion and finally launching his label with his late partner, Sergio Galeotti.
Its fashion house has several different lines which have also extended to haute couture, ready-to-wear fashion, accessories, beauty products and makeup, jewelry, interior design and luxury hotels in cities like Milan, Paris, New York, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai.
