Henk Rogers will speak about his book, The Perfect Game – Tetris: From Russia with Love at Gamescom Latam

Visionary entrepreneur and gaming legend Henk Rogersfounder of The Tetris Company, will speak at the Gamescom Latam 2025 event in São Paulo. I’ll be moderating a fireside chat with him on May 2.

Known for being responsible for popularizing Tetris worldwide, Rogers will take part in a fireside chat moderated by game journalist Dean Takahashi (yes, that’s me), on 2 May.

We will discuss Roger’s’ journey in discovering the international phenomenon Tetris and his role in Nintendo’s Game Boy launch. Also, Rogers will participate in a photo and autograph session with visitors during Gamescom Latam, which takes place from 30 April to 4 May at Anhembi District in São Paulo, Brazil.

In addition, Rogers will launch his recent book, The Perfect Game –Tetris: From Russia with Lovedirectly at Gamescom Latam 2025. In the book, the entrepreneur explores his early days programming The Black Onyx, Japan’s first major RPG, before immersing readers in his daring quest to secure the rights to Tetris, which culminated in the popularization of the game that has become one of the best-selling titles in history.

The second one is Gamescom Latam world panorama which will feature titles from outside Brazil. For this non-competitive showcase, 20 games from 14 countries were selected, including ones from Paraguay, Spain, France, China, and Cyprus. In partnership with MCR Agency, Gamescom Latam also announced the participation of four additional influencers from Latin American countries at the event. The presence of La Mara (gaming expert, cosplayer and dancer), and gaming experts and streamers JohaanZu, El Mekee and El Neitor are confirmed.

Gamescom Latam is the perfect place not only to play hundreds of games, but also to meet personalities from the gaming world. For this year’s edition, influencers such as Gaules, Cheff Otto and Mustache have already been confirmed, as well as personalities from the world of game development, Kassidy Gerber (Valve), Alden Kroll (Valve), Nathaniel Blue (Valve). Additional talents will be announced before the event.

Gamescom Latam 2025 has already announced the participation of Pokémon Go, Warner Bros. Games, Level Infinite, Gravity, Steam and more, as exhibitors for this upcoming edition, which will take place from 30 April – 4 May, 2025.

Located this time at the Anhembi District Convention Center in the city of São Paulo, the event will be even bigger, with new projects, participation from major companies in the gaming industry, e-Sports championships, meet & greets with creators, talks, and more.
