A hot air balloon caught fire and fell from the sky on Saturday in the southern state of Brazil of Santa Catarina, killing eight people, firefighters said.
Images shared by the Local G1 new store have shown smoke waves from the ball in flames because Wounded to the ground in the municipality of Praia Grande.
On a video on social networks, two people can be seen falling into the air while the fire spread on board the plane.

“We are in mourning. A tragedy has happened. We will see how it happens, what happened, why it happened. But the important thing now is that the structure of the State does what it can,” said Governor Jorginho Mello in a video on X.
Mello said he had asked the authorities to go to the municipality “to do as much as possible to rescue, help, go to hospital, comfort families”.
“According to the pilot, who is one of the survivors, a fire started inside the basket, then he started to lower the ball. When the ball was very close to the ground, he ordered people to jump from the basket,” said the newspaper Folha of Sao Paulo cited.
“Some of them failed to jump. The fire increased and the ball finally fell,” added Lemos.
G1 indicated that the planned flight time of the ball was 45 minutes, the balloon reaching 1000 meters and cost 550 reais (around $ 137 CA) per passenger.
Praia Grande is a common destination for the hot air balloon, a popular activity in certain parts of southern Brazil during the June festivities which celebrate Catholic saints such as St. John, whose day of the party is on June 24.
Last Sunday, a ball went down in the state of Sao Paulo, killing a 27 -year -old woman and injuring 11 other people, G1 reported.
