There are some rather incredible technological devices in science fiction, different vessels that help characters travel to the wide countries of the universe, which are slightly more outside the world, such as “Star Trek” or “Stargate” Franchise. It’s fun to try to imagine what you can pay for the construction of some of these science fiction buildings, about $ 20 billion Building and starting a USS company From the original “Star Trek” trillion dollars needed to build a star destruction “Star Wars”, but what about a little less space -driven trip – say, star gate?
Massive tires that allow a temporary journey in the “Stargate” franchise area are usually called gates (or “Einstein -Rosen’s Bridge Portal devices” if you want to be great), and even if we can’t find out exactly what the construction costs because we have no such hard fan.
In 2019, a group of fans around the world called Les Enfants de MacGyver decided to build a “Stargate Atlantis” copy of the “Stargate” Franchise, where the gate is used to communicate with the nominal lost city. By the way, the group name means “children MacGyver, “Referring to Hitti TV Franchise Starring “Stargate” as a friend of Richard Dean Anderson, who can customize tools and weapons almost anywhere.
The 19 -foot replica gate took them for more than ten years of construction, and Superfan Quentin Brichet led the project and used about $ 60,000 in the materials to make the gate as close as possible to the “real thing”. It has all the same features as the gate of the series except for the interim journey, including the glowing rhymes and spinning the central light, and although it is impressive, it was just a test for the team’s dream project: Building a Milky Way Gate “Stargate” and the first spin-off series, “Stargate SG-1”.
Although the Milky Way Port Project is not yet complete because they are trying to build all the mechanical elements that really move, the achievement of technology considerably after just a massive structure that stands safely upright, it is almost made and is quite impressive even though the team has not revealed the exact cost. They are probably larger than the $ 60,000 price tag on the Pegasus port, given more complex mechanics, but hey, it’s all insanely cool.
Perhaps the best part of the whole story is not that a group of fans built two gates from the “Stargate” Franchise program, but that they developed friendships and built it together despite being scattered around the world, certificate of technology alone. In an interview Vice chairmanBrichet said that even though the team was relatively strangers when it all started, some members eventually became very good friends. “I talk to them more than I talk to my close friends,” he said. Now abbreviation Fandom power, baby.
