Israel warned “there will be no calm in Beirut” after launching its greatest attack on the Lebanese capital from the ceasefire.
The Israeli army will continue to bomb Lebanon if Hezbollah is not disarmed, the Israeli Minister of Defense Israel Katz warned, affirming “there will be no calm in Beirut” and “no order or stability in Lebanon” unless the security of Israel is assured.
“The agreements must be honored, and if you do not do what is necessary, we will continue to act and with great strength,” the Israeli minister said in a press release on Friday.
The Israeli army launched a Strong series Target the southern suburbs of Beirut Thursday evening, sending a large number of residents fleeing their homes on the eve of the Muslim holidays from Eid Al-Adha after having expressed a forced evacuation prescription one hour earlier.
Israel said, without providing proof, that his last attack had been launched against Hezbollah’s “drone factories” in the Lebanese capital.

The national national public agency by Lebanon reported that Israeli fighter planes had made a dozen strikes in the attack. A Hezbollah press release said that a preliminary assessment has shown that nine buildings had been destroyed, while dozens of others have been damaged.
Hezbollah also denied that there were drone production facilities in targeted locations.
The Israeli attack was the fourth and heavier, made by targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut – a bastion of Hezbollah – since the ceasefire ended hostilities on November 27.
Israel’s latest attack on the Lebanese capital, in which it claimed to destroy “infrastructure where precision missiles” were stored by Hezbollah, came at the end of April.
“Clear violation of an international agreement”
Throughout Lebanon, Israel violated the almost daily ceasefire in the seven months which were signed, according to the Lebanese government of President Joseph Aoun, the Arab nations and human rights groups.
Aoun called on the United States and France, guarantors of the ceasefire in November, to brake the attacks in Israel.
Speaking late Thursday, Aoun expressed “the firm condemnation of the Israeli aggression”, describing the attacks a “blatant violation of an international agreement … on the eve of a sacred religious festival”.
Friday, Ali Ammar, a Hezbollah legislator, urged “all the Lebanese political forces … to translate their declarations of condemnation into concrete action”, including diplomatic pressure.
In the months following the ceasefire, Israeli strikes in Lebanon killed at least 190 people and injured nearly 500 others, the Lebanese government announced in April.
Under the cease-fire agreement, the Lebanese army was responsible for disarming Hezbollah-a political party and a paramilitary group which would once be more armed than the State.
But after the attack on Thursday, the army of Lebanon warned that such attacks weakened its role in the ceasefire. He added that Israel rejected his proposal to inspect the alleged drone production sites in the south of Beirut to prevent an air strike.
“Israeli enemy violations of the Agreement and its refusal to respond to the committee weaken the role of the committee and the army,” the army said in a statement.
He added that continuous Israeli attacks could lead the army to freeze its cooperation with the supervisory committee “with regard to research positions” and the dismantling of Hezbollah infrastructure near the Israeli border in southern Lebanon.
The war between Israel and Hezbollah was redesigned following the War of Israel against Gaza in October 2023, while the Lebanese group launched cross -border attacks against northern Israel in solidarity with Hamas.
The subsequent Israeli attacks against Lebanon have killed more than 4,000 people, including hundreds of civilians, before signing the ceasefire. Hezbollah rocket fire in Israel killed 87 Israeli soldiers and 46 civilians.
