Israelis demand captives’ return; Europe rallies for end to Gaza genocide | Israel-Palestine conflict News

Thousands of Israeli demonstrators in Tel Aviv have again called the return of captives held in Gaza and an immediate ceasefire, while hundreds of thousands of pro-Palestine supporters gathered in Rome denouncing the “complicity” of the Italian government in the war.

The captive families and antigan -government demonstrators gathered in front of the headquarters of the Israeli army on Saturday, several hours after the Thai Foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Israeli forces had recovered the body from a Thai captive.

In a statement, the Israeli army said on Saturday morning that the body of Nattapong Pinta had been recovered from the Rafah region in southern Gaza after being captivated during the October 7, 2023 attack in Hamas.

The Hostage and Smart Families Forum wrote on X that it “pushes their heads in the sorrow on the murder of Nattapong Pinta”.

“Time is exhausted for the 55 hostages. We have to bring them home now!” Wrote the group on X.

Hamas’ armed wing spokesman, Qassam brigades, Abu Obeida, warned that an Israeli captive, Matan Zangauker, was detained in an area targeted by the Israeli army.

He warned that if Zangauker was killed during an attempt to release him, the Israeli army would be responsible.

The mother of the captive, Einav Zangauker, speaking during the demonstration of Tel Aviv, criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for neglecting those who stand in Gaza.

“Military pressure closes over [my son] and place it in immediate danger. The decision to expand the exploitation of the field comes to the price of the life of Matan and the life of all hostages, “she said.

“”[Netanyahu] continues to sacrifice the hostages. He uses the [Israeli military] Not to protect the security of Israel, but to continue the war and protect his government. »»

Itzik Horn, the father of Captive Eitan Horn, said at a press conference in Tel Aviv that the American envoy in the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, is expected to put pressure on a new cease-fire proposal to ensure the liberation of captives.

“Present Netanyahu and Hamas with an offer with an ultimatum to end the war. This is probably the only way to return the hostages,” said Horn.

He called Witkoff to “put aside the frame of Netanyahu to extend the war” for the return of the captives.

Police prevented activists from the NGO, looking at the occupation in the eyes, reaching the protest zone in Tel Aviv, according to Israeli media reports. The activists transported signs protesting against Israeli war crimes and ethnic cleaning in Gaza.

During the attack on Hamas, which killed 1,139 people in southern Israel, the group removed 251 people; Following a series of prisoner exchanges for captives with the Israeli government, the group currently has 55 captives in Gaza, a number of whom died.

The War of Israel against Gaza has now killed at least 54,772 Palestinians and injured 125,834 others, the Gaza Ministry of Health reported.

“ Enough at the massacre of the Palestinians ”

Meanwhile, through Europe, pro-Palestine demonstrators called at the end of the Israeli genocidal assault in Gaza.

In Rome, hundreds of thousands of people walked in the city during a demonstration called by opposition parties slamming the government’s “complicity” in the war.

The leader of the principal Democratic Party of the opposition, Elly Schlein, described the participation “a huge popular response” in opposition to the actions of Israel in the besieged and bombed enclave.

The demonstration was “to say enough about the massacre of the Palestinians, say enough to the crimes of the far -right government of Netanyahu” and to show the world “another Italy,” said Schlein to journalists.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni suffered increasing pressure to adopt a stronger position in the war in Gaza when she supported Israel and Netanyahu throughout, while admitting difficult conversations with the Israeli chief recently.

In the British capital, London, anti-government demonstrators have held out of “cut war, not well-being”.

Speaking during the Whitehall rally, the former Labor Party leader Jeremy Corbyn said with “the abominable and deliberate famine of children in Gaza and the genocide inflicted on the Palestinian people”, a world of “peace” was necessary.

“We need a world of peace that will come from the vision of peace, the vision of disarmament and the vision of questioning the causes of war, which leads to the despair and the refugee flows of today,” he said.

Pro-Palestine demonstrations also took place on Saturday in Denmark, Sweden and Germany, where demonstrators raised banners calling at the end of the Israeli genocide against the Palestinians.
