Joshua Kimmich makes final decision on Bayern Munich contract

Joshua Kimmich is set to end the speculation over his future by signing a new long-term contract with Bayern Munich, reports in Germany state.

With his current deal expiring in the summer, a free transfer seemed inevitable for Kimmich when Bayern withdrew their offer of an extension because of frustrations towards the midfielder’s apparent hesitance to accept.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid are all known admirers of Kimmich, who also received a formal offer from Paris Saint-Germainand the 30-year-old recently confirmed he would make a final decision on his future before this month’s international break.

German publication Sports picture report that decision has now been made after a meeting with Bayern officials on Thursday left his close to extending.

A four-year contract is on the table for Kimmich and is expected to be signed this week, putting an end to the uncertainty surrounding his future.

Tying up Kimmich’s future will free Bayern up to address the futures of a handful of other big names whose deals expire in 2025.

Winger Leroy Sane has plenty of interest as he enters the final four months of his contract, while veteran forward Thomas Muller, versatile defender Eric Dier and backup goalkeeper Sven Ulreich are all approaching the expiration of their respective deals.
