“Jurassic World” arrived for 14 years after “JP3” for largely positive reviews, especially from the public. “Dominion” in turn met the worst reviews Franchise -after all. Although the complete reviews of “rebirth” have not fallen since this writing, online reactions have been much more positive. It could help with the legs after what seems to be a softer opening weekend (in proportion to $ 6 billion “Jurassic” franchise – in any case).
“Rebirth” picks up five years after “Dominion”, and the remaining dinosaurs on the planet now are mostly insulated in places around the equator. From there, the film follows a group of people as they travel to a remote island to pick up DNA from three massive dinosaurs, because genetic material is crucial to a new drug that brings to humanity life -saving benefits. There are big long -term questions for the Universal here. Can “Rebirth” help to get franchise back on the track even with a softer opening? “Dominion” was a risk of being a point that has no return in this regard, similar to “Transformers: The Last Knight” was “Transformers”. Remember that the “last knight” was poorly immersed in box office revenue compared to its predecessors, and “Transformers” is still recovering from Paramount’s best effort. In other words, Universal must avoid uncontrolled downward spiral spirals here in line, as this is one of the biggest cash cows of the studio.
Of course, “rebirth” does not have to clean a billion dollars. The reported $ 180 million budget is simply done by something between $ 600 million (especially when these films bring money for goods and noodles). But what it can’t do is to make the audience still say, “I have had enough.” Since this is not a movie, this is the next movie. In short, the studio has a lot of riding in this movie. If it has to return to the drawing board, it will be easier to win the audience than to do.
