Kenyan fishermen under pressure as foreign trawlers threaten waters




While the French coastal city of Nice hosts the United Nations Ocean Conference, we take you to Kenya, where small fishermen are struggling. Fish stocks decrease and their nets are often empty. The reason: some foreign industrial trawlers – mainly Chinese, Tanzanian and Italian – are marine ecosystems and damage marine ecosystems, often with little surveillance.
