Thousands of people went down to the streets of Kenya to score a year since antigan demonstrations resulted in the assault on Parliament, despite the fears that they face gangs supported by the state and with police violence.

Anger intensified on police brutality, especially after the death of a detention teacher at the beginning of the month.

A group of peaceful demonstrators was also attacked last week by a gang of “henchmen” on a motorcycle because they are known in Kenya, armed with whips and clubs and act in tandem with the police.
