West featured North’s vocals in a new song titled “Lonely Roads Still Lead To Sunshine,” which also had input from Diddy and his son, Christian.

The song opens with a conversation between West and Diddy before North is heard rapping: “When you see me shining, then you see the light.”

The move has seemingly left a sour taste in Kardashian’s mouth, so much so that she’s rumored to be considering a renewed custody battle with her ex-husband.

“Kim is disgusted her daughter appears on Kanye’s new song that also features Diddy. This is disastrous. To be linked in any way with Diddy is both heartbreaking and unforgivable,” a source told the Daily Mail.

Kardashian and West got married in 2014, and their divorce was finalized in November 2022, after eight years of marriage.

Shortly before West posted and deleted the controversial Diddy song to X, he shared screen grabs of a purported conversation with Kardashian in which he threatened to go “to war” with her over rights to their children’s name.

The purported text suggests Kardashian holds the rights to North’s name and that she attempted to use it to prevent her from being featured in the song with Diddy, but that didn’t sit right with West, who wrote in the text that he was “never speaking with” his ex-wife again.

A legal document with the phrase “participation in this project,” presumably in reference to the new song, can also be seen in the screen grab.

However, Kardashian allegedly shot back, “I asked u at the time if I can trademark her name,” alleging, “You said yes,” and adding, “When she’s 18, it goes to her.”

She then warned West to “stop,” noting that she “sent paperwork over so (North) wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her.”

“One person has to trademark! We agreed when they were born, I would get all of our kids’ names and trademarks. So no one else would take them,” Kardashian added.

In the alleged screen grab, West appears not to see reason with his ex-wife and fired back at her, threatening to go “to war” if something isn’t done about it.

“Amend it, or I’m going to war. And neither of us will recover from the public fallout,” the Yeezy founder allegedly wrote before declaring, “You’re going to have to kill me.”

The “Vultures 1” rapper has since returned to social media, where he claimed that his “rights” have been taken away by his ex-wife’s family, adding in capital letters, “I don’t want to just ‘see’ my kids. I need to raise them.”

“I need to have a say so of where they go to school, and who their friends are, and whose houses they sleep over, whether my daughters wear lipstick and perfume,” he added.

In another X rant on Tuesday, West asserted that “the man has the final say over his kids.”

Why Kim Kardashian Is Unlikely To Fight For Full Custody

The impasse between the exes has sparked rumors that the SKIMS founder wants to secure full custody of their children. However, sources close to her don’t think she’ll go down that path.

In their 2022 divorce settlement, West was awarded shared joint custody of their children with “equal access” and was ordered to pay $200,000 per month in child support.

Insiders believe that the information he has about his ex-wife and her family would likely prevent her from pursuing a renewed custody battle.

“Kim will never go for full custody. Why? Because Kanye never had an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) with Kim,” an insider told the Daily Mail. “He was her husband. No one knows Kim and her family better than Kanye, and she worries about what he could make public from their private lives.”

Excerpts from Diddy’s recent prison call with West were what the rapper featured as the opening line of his new song, “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,” with daughter North and Diddy’s son Christian.

The move has now spiraled into a legal standoff between Kardashian and West as the reality TV star tried to stop him from using the vocals because she doesn’t want North associated with anything concerning the alleged sex offender.

Regarding the leaked call, an insider told the New York Post“Diddy is collateral damage in the debacle over Ye’s new song,” adding that “the beef is really with Kim.”
