Kim Kardashian Reveals Plans For 15-Carat Engagement Ring

Kim Kardashian is making plans for one of her most famous jewelry pieces, the massive 15-carat diamond engagement ring she received from Kanye ‘ye’ West.

On “The Kardashians,” she shared which of her four children will inherit the sentimental piece one day. Her revelation follows another engagement ring bombshell earlier in the season, where she admitted to partially funding her ex-husband Kris Humphries’ proposal.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye ‘Ye’ West engaged in October 2013 before tying the knot in a lavish Florence ceremony in May 2014. They share four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

The actress has shared her intention of keeping her engagement ring from Ye in the family for her eldest daughter, North West.

During the March 13 episode of Hulu’s “The Kardashians,” Kim revealed to her sister Khloé that she plans to pass down the sentimental 15-carat diamond ring to North, recalling the special moment they shared after Ye proposed.

“That one I’m going to give to Northie because she was with me when I got engaged. And she held it after and I took a photo. She was just a few months old,” Kim explained.

Though Ye upgraded her ring to a 20-carat emerald-cut diamond worth an estimated $4 million, Kim held on to the original cushion-cut piece, In Touch reports.

She also shared that it was the only piece of jewelry she did not take to Paris, referencing the 2016 robbery where she was held at gunpoint and lost millions in stolen valuables.

In the episode, Kim also looked back on the moment when Ye seemingly predicted the infamous robbery that left her traumatized and without millions in jewelry.

She recalled posting an Instagram video before the 2016 heist, flaunting both engagement rings the “College Dropout” hitmaker had gifted her. The rapper immediately warned her against it.

“Kanye saw it, andhe goes, ‘Don’t you ever wear both of your rings at the same time. Are you looking to get robbed?'” Kim shared, adding that she had left her original 15-carat ring at home, sparing it from being stolen.

The masked robbers, disguised as police, stole over $10 million in jewelry and held Kim at gunpoint. It was reported that she was bound, gagged, and feared for her life.

The traumatic event led her to drastically scale back on public jewelry, opting for minimal accessories even at high-profile events like Paris Fashion Week 2018.

Ye’s ring to her was not the first she talked about. With the music producer, Kim has an heirloom to pass down, but when it comes to Humphries’ ring, it seems like it was never really hers to keep.

The Blast reported that the star set the record straight about her engagement ring from her second ex-husband. Kim disclosed that the basketball star did not fully fund the lavish ring despite its extravagant price tag.

She reportedly covered most of the cost herself, while Humphries only contributed about a fifth. The bombshell revelation left her friend Chris Appleton in disbelief, calling the move “savage.”

Humphries proposed with an 18-carat emerald-cut diamond from Lorraine Schwartz, a noticeable upgrade from the 14-carat cushion-cut ring Kim received from her first husband, Damon Thomas.

However, despite Kim’s financial contribution, Humphries reclaimed the ring after their 72-day marriage ended.

Kim’s brief marriage to Humphries remains one of the most infamous celebrity unions of all time. The mother-of-four and the former NBA player went from a whirlwind romance to a multimillion-dollar wedding, only to call it quits just 72 days later.

The two met in 2010 through Humphries’ teammate Jordan Farmar, and their relationship quickly escalated. By May 2011, he proposed with an 18-carat emerald-cut diamond, and just three months later, they tied the knot in a grand ceremony that aired on E! as “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding.”

But the fairytale did not last long. Shortly after the wedding special premiered, Kim filed for divorce, and tensions between the pair became public. Per US Weekly, sources claimed Humphries was not fully on board with Kardashian’s lifestyle, and Kim herself reportedly felt she had made a huge mistake.

Kim has never shied away from reflecting on her past relationships, and when it comes to her infamous 72-day marriage, she admits she saw the red flags early, specifically on their honeymoon.

In 2017, she confessed on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” that she rushed into the marriage because she felt pressured by turning 30.

“I just thought, ‘Holy sh-t, I’m 30 years old, I better get this together. I better get married.’ But I knew on the honeymoon it wasn’t going to work out,” she recalled.

Four years later, during the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” reunion, Kim revealed that her mother, Kris Jenner, actually urged her to reconsider before walking down the aisle. However, she refused to back out, fearing the public backlash of being labeled a “runaway bride.”

Is Kim Kardashian’s plan to pass the sentimental piece to North the right call?
