Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai hits back at Real Madrid star Arda Guler in social media spat

Dominik Szoboszlai has taken a swipe at Arda Guler after the Real Madrid midfielder ‘shushed’ him during last night’s Nations League game between Hungary and Turkey.

Guler was on the scoresheet as Turkey cruised to a 3-0 victory in Budapest to complete a resounding 6-1 aggregate triumph.

It was a miserable night for Liverpool star Szoboszlai, who captained his country but was unable to make much of an impact as Guler and Turkey secured promotion to League A.

He was visibly frustrated throughout, pounding his fist into the turf after Guler scored it make it 2-0 after 39 minutes.

Cheeky Guler Tells Szoboszlai To Be Quiet

He also had to watch on as Guler told him to be quiet after putting his finger to his lips.

Szoboszlai was unimpressed and was quick to answer back on Instagram.

Replying to a picture of the ‘shushing’ gesture, he simply replied with “1088’” in reference to the number of minutes Guler has played for Real Madrid this season.

Guler struggling for game time at Real Madrid

The former Fenerbahce man has failed to win the trust of Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti and struggled to hold down a regular place in the side.

Turkey boss Vincenzo Montella is a big fan, though, and said: “He’s one of our most important players, our bright hope. He showed how much potential he has. He’s a sensational footballer.”

Madrid cannot meet Liverpool this season after Arne Slot’s side were knocked out of the Champions League at the round of 16 stage by Paris Saint-Germain.
