We are officially halfway from season two of Playdate, and so far there have been no flops. Last week brought us But this week is to keep things light and stupid. This does not mean that the last two games are a walk in the park. The third drop of features of season two And And as fun as they are, you are still in a challenge. But when you need a break, there is always more Blippo +.
I am convinced that the developers of Playdate are a different breed. This console led me to some of the strangest games to which I have played for a while, and Long puppy is yet another ridiculous but charming entrance to the cannon. It is essentially a game of fetch. You play like an outing on an outing with your owner, and all you have to do is recover the ball they have launched. Quite simple, right? Normal, even? Of course not.
Each level is a complex obstacle course – platforms, underground rooms, rooms with doors that can only be opened on one side, etc. And you work against the clock. After a while passing, you will no longer continue the ball alone. A ghost dog with razor chompres will arise to steal your ball and try to bite your head. But none of this is the stranger. Strange things are in the way you move and how you have marked.
The dash you play because it is not regular dachshund. Its head can rotate 360 degrees, and whatever you point it (using the crank) determines in which direction you will travel. It is not only walking, but rather stretches forward and contracts as a kind of extreme Glins worms. There is food scattered at each level, and consumption will grow the dog more and more so that it can cross larger gaps. The result is what looks like an extraterrestrial wearing a teckel costume and really trying to behave discreetly but failing. When you explore and collect food, you can also find an interesting pee to sniff. Yes, pee, and there is a pee journal which serves as a recording of all the different types of urine you have encountered. CLOWN PEE? Check! Place the pee cat? Check!
Everything is incredibly silly. At the end of each level, once you have successfully brought the ball back to your owner, you will have to make the dog take a massive poop using the crank, and the height of this dump (in feet) will tell you if you have finished with 100% exhaustiveness or not. Aside from absurdity, the mechanisms of this game are really interesting and have a unique game experience. All this seems at the beginning as if it will be a cold puzzle platform, then the ghost dog appears to release the chaos on everything. It’s pretty fun. I am, as they say, a big fan of what it is.
Otto galactic groove !! was both a great and terrible thing for me. It’s great in that it is a really cool vision of the rhythm game formula, with a cute story and fun tunes to register. It is terrible in that it triggers my perfectionism in the exact way of the games as Guitar hero Used, trapping me in a loop to replay each song until I hit each note to get a perfect final score. There are a lot of cries involved. I may not be a strict complex in certain games, but the rhythm games do me something, and I cannot rest until I see 100% at the end of all this.
In Otto galactic groove !!A spatial version of these adorable ““The sea slugs named Otto were sent on a mission to explore the galaxy and find inspiration for the extraterrestrial music producer Tomie. Otto stops on several different planets to chat with eccentric characters and hear their songs, and you play with them.
Now there are three parameters of difficulty for this game, but if I am honest, none of them is particularly easy. Casual is the lowest and it is said that it is a “soft introduction”, but it did not seem so sweet in my first two or three attempts to follow even the tutorial song. I can’t even understand what the game would look like on extreme. This rhythm game does not only imply pressing a button at the right time while the note crosses an designated threshold – the threshold here is a mobile oval -shaped cursor that you control using the crank. So you have to put the oval in the right place And Press the note at the precise time when it comes into contact. Finding the Sweet Spot was also delicate. I first assumed that the notes should be in the dead center of the oval, but the target is actually somewhere just before that. A This has since been released seems to solve this problem, however, making timing more intuitive.
The songs made for this game are fun and cover different genres, so you will not feel like listening to the same and again (unless you actually play the same songs again and again, like me in my futile quest for perfection). At the beginning, you will meet a fish with a case of blues (his “daughter-poisson” broke with him), and I liked his sorrow hymns. Under the Jukebox tab in the menu, you can also find songs from other playdate games like Resonance tale And BloomWhich is a very nice touch.
This is another game game in which central history is told through a comic strip that you scroll using the crank, and I remain a fan of this approach. Although it may not be like the prospect of a stranger (my partner has registered several times: all the cries to make sure that everything was fine, especially after the game crashed and I lost all my initial progress), I appreciate Otto galactic groove !! Much … just in a way that seems a bit masochistic.
