Man shot dead, another severely injured in brazen Bali villa attack – National


Authorities Bali are looking for two Australian men suspected of mortally filming A man from Melbourne and hurt another on the picturesque Indonesian island this weekend.

The incident, which occurred at Villa Casa Santisya in the Badung Regency in the south of Bali just after midnight Friday, killed Zyvan Radmanovic, 32, from Melbourne, and left another seriously injured man, confirmed the chief of the Badung police, Arif Batubara, The guardian reported.

“We cannot yet determine the reason,” said Batubara, adding that the authorities were investigating.

The two Australian victims were transported to Hospitals separated from Denpasar, a city north of the shooting.

Australian Broadcasting Association (ABC) said that the dead had been shot dead twice and once in his right foot, and had cut his face and shoulder.

Department of Australia for Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) confirmed Sunday morning that he helped the family of a deceased man, but did not give his name.

“”[The department] provides consular assistance to the family of an Australian who died during a shooting incident in Bali, “he said in a statement obtained by The Guardian.

“We send our deepest condolences to the family during this difficult period,” he continued, adding that he is “ready to provide consular assistance to another Australian injured in the same incident”, but that he would not provide more details in the interest of maintaining the confidentiality of the two victims.

Bali police say that only three of the five chambers of the villa were occupied at the time of the shooting, with five guests present in total, in particular the wives of the two victims and another tourist.

Radmanovic was shot in the bathroom, where they discovered 17 balls of bullets, two unused balls and 55 bullet fragments, confirmed the authorities.

Witnesses who were in the villa in the attack told investigators that two armed men arrived at accommodation on a scooter nearly midnight. One was seen bearing an orange jacket with a dark color helmet. The second wore a dark green jacket, a black mask and a dark helmet.

According to ReutersThe two suspects were heard speaking English in an Australian accent.


Radmanovic’s wife told the police that she was awake by the sound of her husband shouting and that she was hiding under a blanket when she heard shots ring.

Later, she discovered the body of her husband and the injured Australian, whose wife said she also saw the attackers and describes to be awake by a loud noise.

She told the police that she had heard several shots and that the sound of the glass breaking before the shooter enters her room. She escaped the villa during the shooting, she told the police.

Two Balinese witnesses staying inside the villa complex also told the police that they had heard a man saying that he could not start his scooter with a thick Australian accent, shortly after the shooting, ABC reported.

Photographs of the scene, shared by the Australian point of sale, show shot holes where the balls pierced outside the villa.

The Balinese authorities are currently waiting for authorization from the Australian Embassy to lead an autopsy on the deceased victim.
