The following contains spoilers Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts*. “
It is no secret that there were up and downs in the Marvel Cinematic Universe 4 and 5. In infinity saga’s unprecedented success, especially after “Avengers: Endgame”, it has been uphill to the Battle of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, which in many ways became the victim of his success. Although there have been some standout homes, such as “Wandavision” and “Spider-Man: Not Kill Home”, Post- “Endgame” McU has given birth to some of the most inspired labels of franchise programs, including unpleasant “secret attacks” and “Ant-Man”.
James Gunn, whose swan song in Marvel Studio was “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” has shared his thoughts on why he believes MCU’s sorrows Talk to a larger film industry struggle. Ultimately, a high -quality manuscript is the most important concern, and despite the misuse of the property, MCU’s last phase 5 film “Thunderbolts*” is undoubtedly one of its best films in the hot minute, most of which may be due to Eric Pearson and the manuscript credited to Joanna Calo. In addition to its character-driven concentration, working together with the confident direction of Jake Schreier, “Thunderbolts*” stands out as a refreshing number in a franchise program that has spun its wheels.
In addition to the quality of the movie (In his review /movieBJ Colankelo called it “one of the best movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that’s why abbreviation It seems that something about MCU’s current era) “Thunderbolts*” has made waves because of its real title announcement. Given that phase 5 cinemas are promoted by a star in their title, the film ends by giving both the nominal team and the film around them a different director: “New Avengers”. This surprise title has been a large part of the film’s marketing since the release of the theater and teases the exciting things that come when “Avengers: Doomsday” arrives in 2026. With this kind of bomb, one can only imagine how Marvel Studios kept it under wraps. Fortunately, two actors in the movie have now revealed how they pulled this neat trick out.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus first appeared as Valentina Allagra de Fontaine in “Falcon and the Winter Soldier”, where she recruited John Walker (Wyatt Russell) to become a US representative. He also had a Cameo “Black Widow” event, where he directs Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) towards Clint Barton/Hawkeya (Jeremy Renner) to retaliate her sister Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson). This, in turn, smoothed the way for his supportive role as the CIA’s new leader “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, who still reveals that Valentina is the former wife of Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman).
After a few performances in a couple of MCU projects, Valentina will finally have the opportunity to play a more important role in the “Thunderbolts*” event, opposite Yelena, the US Agent, the Winter War (Sebastian Stan), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Red Guardian (David Harbor). As it turns out, Louis -Dreyfus already knew the real nature of the film in the film’s title for years, and the big revelation of “New Avengers” was part of Feige and Marvel Studios Chairman Louis d’A esposito’s height of him. As he said Entertainment–
“I met Kevin Feigen and Louis d’Aspositon many years ago when they first placed me this full gaming cast playing– And they put this for me. So I’ve really felt for a long time. I haven’t said anything to anyone! “
Such a bold secret requires some additional measures to maintain the public’s surprise. As Pugh revealed to EW, even an alternative end was shot to prevent leaks from being circulated from production:
“We shot a version where he was like” new Thunderbolts! “And everyone was like” woo! “And then we took all the background [actors] out and shot Julia’s line, which was kind of cool. “
Harbor is particularly pleased with how the end of the film is committed to the major narrative change in MCU. He also expressed a preference for the outcome of the film to EW, which is considering skepticism that can be known by both franchise characters and audience members, taking into account the title update:
“I think they do an incredible job in order of refund with all articles about how people [in the MCU] There are different opinions about it. Because I know that the audience is likely to have different opinions about these different rejections that take its beloved diaper. “
Although the movie was not crushed in the box office, “Thunderbolts*” has marked the much needed win for MCU. Given that the film focuses on the greatest marginalized in the franchise (when the winter soldier is its biggest name), its inspirational and surprisingly touching story became so pleasant surprise. By the end of the unusual culmination of the film, the audience has already invested in the upcoming family of the new Avengers family now that they are unintentionally raised in that title (with significant baggage). Here it is hoped that their contribution “Avengers: Doomsday” measures this potential.
“Avengers: Doomsday” will be opened in theaters on December 18, 2026.
