Education Secretary Linda McMahon and the conservative group Moms For Liberty took the steps of the Supreme Court on Tuesday to recognize the 100th anniversary of a historic case which, according to them, gave parents more control over the education of their children.
But the defenders who spoke during the event also provide decisions in two other pivotal cases which could affect the parental rights movement led by the conservative.
Rosalind Hanson, who is part of a group of complainants in Mahmoud c. Taylor told Fox News Digital in an interview after the rally that she was optimistic about an upcoming decision of the High Court on the key case of religious freedom. She said it came from public schools in Montgomery County in Maryland refusing to allow parents to opt for their basic children to be exposed to books containing concepts of gender and sexuality.
“We are not trying to change the program,” said Hanson. “We do not try to say what you teach. … The majority of states across the country have said that you can have a deactivation for these very sensitive problems and subjects, especially because of the religious component, but also because of the relevance of age.”

Lawyers for public schools in the county of Montgomery have argued Supreme Court That the courts have long judged that “the simple exposure to controversial questions in a public school program does not charge the free religious exercise of parents or students”. However, lawyers have maintained the school system’s decision to incorporate what they described as a “handful of books of stories featuring lesbians, gays, bisexual, transgender or queer” for use in language lessons.
The Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the case in April, and a decision is expected in the coming weeks.
Also on Moms for Liberty’s Radar is the United States c. Skrmetti, one of the most supervised cases of the court’s mandate.
The case was born from the Biden administration, pursuing a Tennessee bill adopted in 2023 to ban puberty blockers and hormone therapy as treatments for minors who identify as transgender. The Supreme Court is now ready to decide in the coming weeks if states can restrict these medical treatments for minors.

Scarlett Johnson, who has a leadership role in Moms for Liberty, described the case as “big” and told Fox News Digital that she also urges her group members to defend the legislation which “will protect children from puberty presses, crossed hormones and surgeries for minors concerning the question of gender identity”.
McMahon, meanwhile, thought about Pierce v. Society of Sisters, a historic decision published 100 years ago which canceled the Oregon law forcing all children to frequent public school. McMahon called him “one of the most impactful cases in American history”, but said that the parental rights movement was necessary.

“Particular interests and progressive activists are still trying to shake so that the government prevails over mothers and dads in education,” said McMahon. “Whether by ideological indoctrination, a sexually explicit study program or hiding parents’ health and safety risks, the progressive left always wants to be between you and your children.”
The remarks of the speakers could be clearly heard on Livestreams online, but in person before the Supreme Court building, they were completely drowned by a single demonstrator shouting profanations and disparaging a series of civil servants, including McMahon, judge, judge, judge, judge, judge, judge, judge Clarence Thomas And President Donald Trump.

Representative Kat Cammack, R-Fla., Laughs laugh when she thanked the protester, who held a sign by reading “Let’s Taco ‘Bout prices”, a reference to an acronym of the Democrats adopted for “Trump Always Chickens Out”.
“I would also like to thank our only demonstrator for highlighting the mental health crisis in our country. Benat your heart, as we say in the south,” said Cammack.
