Meta is finally repressed who use AI to generate naked and explicit non -consensual images of celebrities, influencers and others. The company is continuing an application manufacturer that has often announced these applications on Facebook and Instagram, and takes new measures to prevent similar services.
Repression occurs from months after several researchers and journalists have raised the alarm on these applications. A recent Since CBS News Identified at least “hundreds” of ads on the Meta platform to promote applications that allow users to “delete clothing” from celebrities and others. A particular application, called Crush IA, has apparently been a prolific advertiser on Facebook and Instagram. Researcher Alexios Mantzarlis, director of the Cornell Tech security, confidence and security initiative, reported in January that Crush Ai had led On Facebook and Instagram since last fall.
Now Meta says he has filed a complaint against Joy Timeline HK Limited, the company based in Hong Kong behind Crush AI and other Nudify applications. “This follows several attempts by Joy Timeline HK limited to bypass the Meta advertisement examination process and continue to place these announcements, after being deleted several times for breaking our rules,” wrote the company in a blog article. Joy Timeline HK Limited did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
Meta also says that he takes new measures to prevent applications like these from advertising on his platform. “We have developed new technologies specially designed to identify these types of ads – even when the advertisements themselves do not include nudity – and use correspondence technology to help us find and delete copy advertisements faster,” Meta wrote. “We have worked with external experts and our own specialized teams to extend the list of terms, sentences and emojis linked to the security that our systems are trained to detect these announcements.” The social network claims that it also plans to work with other technological platforms, including owners of App Store, to share relevant details on entities abusing its platform.
Nudify applications are not the only entities to have exploited the Meta advertising platform to disseminate advertisements with celebrity buttocks. Meta also had trouble containing shaded advertisers who use a video managed by the AI of public figures . The company’s independent supervisory board, which weighs on content moderation problems affecting Facebook and Instagram, recently criticized Meta Its rules prohibiting such ads.
