Just when we thought that Charlie Cale and his 1969 Barracuda were finally parked and appreciated peace in New York, the reluctant BS detector is drawn in another mystery. The Big Pump, the 10th episode of season 2 of Poker Face, PAON StreamingFind the character of Natasha Lyonne tangled with Frank “Brick” Bricatino, a gym owner who directs agitation without recommendation. Played by Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Brick has secrets that continue to accumulate until they are horribly mistaken.
The previous episode dropped Charlie in an apartment concert in the city and a murder in the building. Episode 10 resumes with her trying to settle down, and although she is generally a lonely wolf, she makes a friend in the nice lady who offered her a free coffee, and the pair is a subscription to the Brick’s gym – then things become summary.
Method Man, Jason Ritter, Natasha Leggero and Patti Harrison Star in the last episode that focuses on the murder of Rodney, health inspector and member of the Brick House Gym. When Rodney (Ritter) discovers Brick’s illegal scheme of writing breast milk at the Meatheads, he confronted it and this leads to a fight and an unhappy and regrettable murder of Rodney. I say regrettable because Brick is upset by the way it happens, panic and then covers it. He is also a bit of a crybaby.
Cnet was lucky to speak with Method Man of the episode before his first, and we discussed this role of unique dark comedy, his respect for Lyonne and Brick being a beta version. As a bonus, we also share an exclusive clip for the episode.
The role of poker’s face was an adventure
Apart from his musical career as a solo artist and member of the Wu-Tang clan, Method Man has accumulated many credits as a television and cinema director, including pieces in shows such as Power Book II: Ghost, The Wire and The Deuce. He made comedy, drama, thrillers and voice-over for animation, but his poker experience was different from his past roles.
Was there something that struck him about the character of Brick? “Just that he thinks he is an alpha while he is actually a beta version,” said Method Man. “Ego is a powerful drug. But overall, I thought it was different from all those I have ever played before.”
He congratulated his co-stars, describing Leggero as “magnificent”, Ritter as “dope to work” and the whole experience: “It was an adventure”.
His approach to play Brick involved considering the character as someone who is passionate about the management of his business, even if he is not a great entrepreneur. “The last thing in his mind is the part of the physical form, even if it is his life. He is very good in this area, but he is not so good in life,” said the actor.

Method of man’s favorite scene is probably yours too
Towards the end of the great pump, Charlie questions the brick on Rodney then sneaks towards the sauna to reconstruct evidence. Brick thinks that and, by jostling, he encloses him in the sauna to cook to death. He apologizes that she asks for her life, then puts headphones to block her calls – and her remorse. This is the second time that we have seen Brick feel bad to kill someone, and once Alex frees Charlie, he becomes even more desperate.
While he is about to beat them with a dumbbell bar, Brick’s wife, Lily (Leggero), calls his name with a repressing tone, “Francis John Bricatino! What is the meaning of this?” This is another example of the strange dynamic that the couple A, where Lily is a parentified in their relationship. Brick is in great difficulty and he begins to cry at his wife’s feet when his deadly actions are exhibited. He got caught and crying was Method Man’s favorite scene to shoot.
“It’s so different from me,” he said. “It was the last day of filming. It took a lot to get to this moment – I thought it would be more difficult than what it was, but it was not as difficult because at that moment, I am so invested in this character, it was good.”

Although he did not look at poker’s face before signing for the role, Method Man was already considered a fan of Natasha Lyonne and planned to slip the show (just like Game of Thrones, he added). But he herself talked about him herself, sharing that they laughed a lot on the set, are hard New Yorkers who are really soffies and joked that maybe they “were the same person. “Compliments are mutual.
The distinctions in Lyonne, the method shared that what you see is what you get, on and off screen. “She is super smart and super diligent about her work and everyone seems to queue when she introduces herself to put himself,” he said. “And she knows how to order a set – all the set. Like her.”
He added that the show would really not work without it, and described it as “talented and authentic uber”, which, as man said, can be rare in show business.
