Moscow’s stunning new park, designed by Americans

Built next to the Red Square, the Zaryadye Park in Moscow, the first new city park in 50 years, recreates the many landscapes of Russia at the center of one of the largest frequented cities in the world. The park, which includes 32 wavy acres covered with native plants and trees, was designed by the American architect Charles Renfro, who was responsible for the High Line in New York. The correspondent LIZ PALMER discussed with Renfro and with the landscape architect Mary Margaret Jones of the background of this romantic public space.
