Sicily Mount Etna Put an ardent show on Monday, sending a cloud of smoke and ashes of several kilometers (miles) in the air, but the officials said that the activity posed no danger to the population.
The alert level due to volcanic activity was increased at Catania airport, but no immediate interruption has been reported. An official update said that the program of the ash clouds ended in the afternoon.
The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology of the Ingv of Italy said that the show on the most active in Europe volcano was caused when a part of the southeast crater collapsed, which caused hot lava flows. It was the 14th eruptive phase in recent months.

The danger zone was limited to the top of the Etna, which was closed to tourists as a precaution, according to Stefano Branca, an Ingv official in Catania.
Sicily President Renato Schifani said the eruption lava flows had not passed the natural containment area, “and posed no danger to the population.”

The event was captured in the video and photos that have become viral on social networks. The tremors of the eruption were largely felt in the towns and villages of the sides of Mont Etna, the Italian media reported.
The video has shown that tourists going along a path on the side of the vast volcano with smoke which escapes at a certain distance in the background. The excursions are popular on Etna, which measures approximately 3,300 meters (almost 11,000 feet) high, with an area of approximately 1,200 square kilometers (around 460 square miles).
