'No Kings' protests erupt in thousands of US cities

Before a military parade celebrating the 250th anniversary of the American army, which coincides with the 79th anniversary of President Donald Trump, the demonstrators in thousands of American cities gathered on Saturday against what many consider a demonstration of authoritarianism on the part of Trump. The “No Kings” demonstrations broke out a few hours after the murder of a democratic legislator and her husband in Minnesota earlier in the day, highlighting increasing tensions in a divided country.
