Patreon is raising its fees for new creators this summer

After August 4, creators creating a paid membership page on Patreon will have to pay 10% fees on their income as part of the new standard platform plan. Although Patreon currently offers professional and premium plans, which carry 8% and 12% costs of creators’ income, he merged both into a single option in the future. Price increase only applies to creators to publish a new page; Patreon says that he will continue to honor the lower pro rate for anyone who locked him before August 4.

Once the change in place, things will also become a little cheaper for creators who operated in the premium plan (12%). Rather than continuing to pay 12%, premium creators will be transferred to a personalized “Pro + Merch” plan which will be delivered with costs of 11%. If they delete the MERCH option, the costs will drop 8%.

Patreon also says that it increases the quantity of free storage which it will provide to creators using Patreon Video. Although he said before that he would provide storage up to 100 hours of video on the whole life of the account and would charge anything beyond that, Patreon now says that he will start to offer 100 hours of video per month for free later this summer. This decision arrives shortly after teasing the platform New tools, including integrated delivery functionalityLive video. Patreon started live video tests among some creators this spring, with plans for a summer deployment.
