The peak design is based on the success of its innovative travel tripod. The manufacturer of photography accessories is launching a new pro tripod on Kickstarter. The latest model is available in three flavors: Pro Lite, Pro and Pro Tall. As you can expect, their prices eclipse that of travel tripod (already expensive).
The pro tripod is extended for greater rigidity and maximum height. He has stronger legs, a hidden hub in All-CNC and a fluid central column. The result is double the weight capacity of the travel tripod, which supports 20 pounds. The new pro and Pro Tall tripod each take 40 pounds. Meanwhile, the pro -Lite tripod manages a little less at 35 pounds.
When they are packed, pro models occupy more space than the travel model, but they will always adapt easily to a backpack. The pro and Pro Lite tripods measure a little less than 20 inches. The pro tall tripod is 22.9 inches. The pro and pro tall models weigh a little more than 4 pounds, while the pro Lite weighs 3.7 lb.
Peak Design also sells new accessories for those who have the most demanding needs. The tilt mod will be essential for those who need the most fluid video. He converts the standard head of the pro line into a fluid and destroyed saucepan. The pro leveling base allows rapid leveling on uneven terrain. And the pro spike feet will help the slippery tripod or the loose floor.
If you thought the travel tripod was expensive, well, accumulate. The pro -Lite tripod should cost $ 800. The pro tripod should cost $ 900. And the pro Tall tripod will cost about $ 1,000. These are “estimated” prices because the products only arrive at Kickstarter. But, as is often the case with crowdfunding, the early promise will allow you a discount.
If you are dismayed by prices, well, it is quite understandable. But consider that the point design really targets professionals here. It is not uncommon to see brand tripods like Rrs and Gitzo Crack the $ 1,000 barrier. Engadget plans to review the pro tripod to see how it stands (sorry) to level needs.
The pro -Lite tripod should be shipped in October. Meanwhile, the company aims at February 2026 for pro and pro tall models. You can find out more in the video below and on the Kickstarter page.
