Elio East Pixar to his original, offering an extraordinary trip filled with marvel of science fiction. The director Domee Shi and the co -director Madeline Sharafian Craft a timeless adventure of maturity which is a solid following their favorite fan Becoming redmarking a new standard for Pixar stories.
Thanks to the narrow meeting of his main character, the film intelligently addresses the resonant experience of feeling alone in a backdrop of imaginative visuals illustrating the enormity of the universe. He captures the desire that we must find a meaning not only through the stars, but faced with the loss, which may seem as isolated as they are lost in space. This is what Elio feels (Yonas Kibreab) when he is taken by his aunt Olga (Zoe Saldaña) while he goes through the unimaginable pain of losing his parents at a young age. Its existential trauma plays in its hyper-fixing with extraterrestrials and has moved away from its problems on earth, which include some intimidators and mocking crop circles in the sand. Meanwhile, his aunt, who works on the military base as a space debris tracker, masks his sorrow by throwing himself at work to support his nephew.
Elio’s life takes a turn when his dreams are made and established a first contact with extraterrestrials via its prototypical radio signal system. He is very endearing in this way, having children on a flowing basis and getting hold of government technology to become inventive while annoying. This is how Elio almost has a friendship with a military kid’s colleague, but he turns out that he is shining alone before getting in trouble. It is from here that Elio obtains whatever he wanted: he is transported to the center of the community, a galactic alliance of the most peaceful life forms of space which was mistaken as Elio as a representative of the land petitioning adhesion.
However, a meeting with the dominatrix Lord Grigon (Brad Garrett) sees Elio led into an adventure that he could never have imagined, forced to stand against the hostile attempts of Grigon to join the communicators by force. Finding yourself by linking the distant son of Grigon Glord (Remy Edgerly), Elio must save the day and learn to form a link with his new improbable friend – and realize that certain trauma are universal experiences, whether for humans or extraterrestrials.
The link in development between these two young children of literally different worlds is what gives Elio His excellent heart, the one who shines alongside the show of his luxuriant imagination of a science fiction universe. The film is filled with magnificent details, but one of the best visual gags has a touching resonance with the broader themes of the film, in a scene where clones of Elio and Glord have returned to their loved ones to take their place, in the hope of passing unprocessed. This best presented plan falls hilarious as the guards reassess their own journeys through grief in front of imposing children, reflecting their own experiences to young boys. That said, it is also paradoxically a moment that presents a rapid movement towards something that seems legitimately frightening and disgusting for a Pixar film – perhaps a genre that the studio could explore at a later date.
Shi and the host’s choices to really highlight and stylize the way ElioThe characters transmit raw emotions through a more complete range on their faces, which we have seen for the first time Becoming redIt shines in full screen here. Glord has not even eyes and I sobbed with his pure innocence. The conceptions of the characters have really evolved and continue to raise the expressiveness of the signature of Pixar, and the chemistry of Kibreab and Odgerly anchors the film to offer a comforting story of sorrow and friendship.
Elio Praise everything together culminating in a powerfully moving and impressive reminder that life with those we love is such a valid experience. Yes, you shed these tears of pixar, but above all a feeling of well-being because of the pure abundance of wonder that the film evokes. Elio Crosses a universe of overwhelming immensity which is presented both beautiful and difficult to feel part of your age. And to our hearts, whoever deserves to find a community; Whether near or far, people only have to get their hands.
Elio Open in theaters on June 20.
