Protests over federal immigration raids pop up across the U.S. with more planned

Demonstrations against federal raids in the application of immigration and the decision of US President Donald Trump to mobilize the National Guard and the Los Angeles Marines spread everywhere in the United States and are expected to continue on weekends.

Police arrested more than 80 people in demonstrations on the Foley square in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday evening and early Wednesday.

Police commissioner Jessica Tisch said that most of the demonstrators were peaceful and that some caused the disorder that required police intervention.

“We want to maintain everyone’s right to protest peacefully in this city and in this country, but we will not tolerate chaos and troubles or violence,” said Tisch on Wednesday morning during an appearance on Fox 5 New York.

Police said they had placed 86 people in detention, including 52 who had been released with a summary of criminal justice for minor crimes and 34 who were accused of assault, resistance to arrest and other crimes.

San Antonio

More than 400 people gathered outside the town hall on Wednesday evening for an anti-ice event, according to local authorities.
