PSV Eindhoven v Arsenal: Line-ups, stats and preview
Arsenal’s FA Cup defeat to Manchester United in early January was met with huge disappointment, not least by boss Mikel Arteta as he searches for silverware to validate his claims of progress at the Emirates.
The only real positive was the fact it created space in the busy fixture list so the Gunners can attack their remaining targets – the Premier League and Champions League.
Arsenal’s form domestically since the defeat to United had been good until recently with a home defeat to West Ham followed by a goalless draw at Nottingham Forest.
They have won both Champions League games, however, and go into the two-legged round of 16 tie against PSV Eindhoven in confident mood.
The hope is Arsenal can advance past the Dutch side and then welcome back the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli for the challenges to come in the latter stages.
Arteta’s men appear to be facing PSV at a good time with the hosts hopelessly out of form.
Bar the extra-time win over Juventus at the Philips Stadion that propelled them through to this stage, Peter Bosz’s side have failed to win any of their five most recent games.
That has included a home draw with FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie and league and cup defeats to the Go Ahead Eagles.
PSV are eight points behind Eredivisie leaders Ajax, who they face in a title blockbuster on March 30.

Arsenal will have the same squad that has carried them through recent weeks.
Saka and Martinelli did not train today and won’t be involved in Eindhoven.
England winger Saka is expected to return by the end of the month with Martinelli due to be back slightly earlier.
Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all out for the season.
PSV have injury concerns of their own with Esmir Bajraktarević, Serginio Dest, Ricardo Pepi and Malik Tillman definitely out.
Mauro Junior is ill but could play.
PSV Endhoven: Blessing; Flag, Flamingo, Boscagli, Birthday; Verman, Saibari, Schute; Perišić, De Jong, Lang
Arsenal: Timber, the Saror, Gbriel, the Calaphiri, Calaphiri. Odegadd, Rice, Jorginho; Swalter, Merino, Trossard
The match will be shown live on Amazon Prime Video in the UK with kick-off at 20:00. You can also stream it on the Prime Video app.
