FigureIsrael’s rapidly focused on code quality coding startup, has announced a new collaboration with Google Cloud to advance the integrity of the software generated by the AI.
While organizations are increasingly counting on artificial intelligence to produce large parts of their code bases, the need for efficient monitoring and quality insurance tools increases.
According to the CEO of Qodo, Itamar Friedman, the code generated by AI is no longer just complementary – it becomes fundamental for modern development.
“Imagine a future where the AI writes all the code; humans will not be able to see it again,” said Friedman. “There must be a system to ensure that values and intentions behind this code remain intact.”
Before his collaboration with Google Cloud, Qodo had already made significant progress in the space for developing corporate software.
Formerly known as codium, the Company renamed in Qodo in the fall of 2024 To reflect its growing accent on the quality of holistic code and the engineering support focused on AI.
One of his Major breakthroughs occurred in February 2025 With the release of DIG-EMBED-1-1.5BA light but highly efficient open-source code integration model.
The parameter model of 1.5 billion billion has produced the best scores on standard references such as the benchmark (Coir) of the recovery of code information, outperforming larger and more intensive offers in Openai and Salesforce resources. It was designed specifically to help development teams to search, recover and contextualize the code between the large multi-language code bases with precision, which makes it particularly relevant for large-scale corporate environments.
Qodo also explored the application of AI agents for regression tests with the release of Widen In December 2024, a fully autonomous tool that validates if the software changes continue to meet the quality and coverage criteria.
Introduced to AWS Re: Invent, Qodo Cover has demonstrated its capacities by successfully contributing the code validated to the standard of Pytorch images of Open-Source de Face.
The company’s approach emphasizes modular AI agents and specific to the tasks that help discrete engineering tasks such as the generation of tests, the code examination and integration, rather than pursuing an all-in-one solution. As CEO Itamar Friedman said, the objective is not only to write more code more quickly, but to ensure that the code generated by AI is reliably integrated and adheres to best practices in complex systems – a particularly pressing concern because the IA tools generate an increasing part of corporate software.
“We consider ourselves responsible for the construction of the machine which observes the machine – in view not only software practices, but also values,” said Friedman.
At the center of the partnership FusionA code revision tool fueled in AI that uses Google Gemini models.
Qodo Merge analyzes the code for potential bugs, structural problems and differences in relation to best practices.
As part of the collaboration, this tool will be offered free of charge for open source software agents, helping to guarantee quality at the heart of widely used community projects.
Friedman explained the importance of this initiative: “By helping open source projects to maintain the highest quality standards, we strengthen the constituent elements of the entire development ecosystem while creating smart railings that allow developers to move with confidence at AI speed.”
The Qodo tool suite is now natively integrated into Google Cloud, offering users direct access via services like Vertex AI and Google Cloud Marketplace.
This includes QodoembedCompact and very efficient Qodo code integration model, now listed in the Green AI model garden.
“Our code integration model is now in the Google model garden, which facilitates deployment for our customers,” said Friedman.
The incorporation model allows the search for fast and precise code and context recovery – key features for AI modern coding workflows. It simplifies the implementation of generation pipelines (RAG) recovery (RAG) and is optimized for business deployment, including GPU -based infrastructure provided by Google Cloud.
Another aspect of integration is the improvement of Dig GenAI Code Assistant. By incorporating the Google Gemini 2.5 Pro model, Qodo Gen now offers more suggestions for contextual and precise code, offering developers a more fluid development experience assisted by the AI.
These improvements also make Qodo tools compatible with the workflows of emerging developers, such as fully automated validation and revision cycles supplied by AI agents working in tandem.
Qodo has designed its platform with flexibility in mind, offering solutions that are both headless and head. This modular approach allows business users to choose components, such as code examination, integrations or context agents – and integrate them into existing workflows via API, CLI or native connectors.
“We are both a headless and front company, offering modular technology so that companies can create workflows adapted to their needs,” said Friedman.
This approach uses large organizations in particular with complex pipelines. Qodo tools are already used by fortune companies 500, notably Intuit and Nvidia. In fact, Nvidia presented Qodo’s capacities during industry events and detailed how they integrate Qodo tools into their own IA workflows.
To extend its scope beyond large companies, Qodo participates in the Google Cloud Startup Perks program.
As part of this initiative, companies eligible at an early stage can receive a 50% discount on the Qodo tools they use for non -open source and owners.
The objective is to make the quality of business quality code solutions accessible to fast -growing startups that seek to evolve in a responsible manner.
“We allow startups and companies to use Qodo transparently with Google Cloud, and we offer discounts to facilitate this integration,” said Friedman.
This program aligns about Qodo’s wider mission to eliminate compromise between speed and quality in software development – a theme that Friedman has repeated throughout his remarks on collaboration.
As the AI tools start to generate code on all layers of the technological battery – IDE and design systems for cloud infrastructure – Qodo sees an urgent need for quality validation tools that operate independently of the origin of the code.
Friedman compared the role of Qodo to that of an observability supplier: just like companies like Datadog Monitor Applications, no matter where they are deployed, Qodo aims to check the quality of the code, regardless of how or where this code is written.
By losing in platforms like Google Cloud, Qodo positions its solution as a neutral and multiplatform standard to validate the integrity of the code in a landscape where AI development quickly becomes the norm.
