Remigo One Review: A Very Compelling Electric Outboard Motor


After moving to One of the largest river islands in North America at the end of last year, I decided that I should discover more of my new house by water. I have long been a fan of freedom that a small canoe or the low boat offers, even on larger rivers like the powerful Columbia here in Oregon.

My uncle Rob of hunting / fishing / contractor had a small canoe of 8.5 feet for me to borrow, so I was settled on this forehead. The problem was the engine: my house and my car work entirely on electricity and solar energy, just like all my lawn tools and even my mower, so I did not want to buy gas outside and treat with gas for a single device. Fortunately for me, there have been a multitude of large electric outboard engines that have come out in recent years, perhaps not more convincing for my needs than that Remigo.

This rudder-shaped speedboat has a 1000 watts engine and an integrated battery, as well as an easy loading and loading system to win on your boat. It is extremely easy to run, reliable and very silent at low speed. You will get several kilometers of reach, even traveling upstream during a falling tide. It was the ideal companion for my aquatic exploration.

Remigo is an electrical outboard of 25 pounds which is delivered in a large cardboard box with cuts for the engine, the transom support and two magnetic supply keys (one with a wrist to the wrist, one without). The idea is that you put the frame on your boat, then simply bring the whole unit to and from the said assembly between the load sessions, using the integrated handle.

It is an impressive well -made machine that seems extremely solid, what you want in any marine equipment. The Mont-et-Remountant style is very practical and means that you never have to worry about treating both a battery And Engine if you want to store your boat wherever you worry about taking equipment.

The installation of the transom support is very simple: place it on the stern of your boat and screw two screws with integrated hand turns. It takes about two minutes if you are slow. From there, you slide on the engine, remove the handle to turn the handle turning and install a locking ring included to prevent the engine from flying out of the support.

The all-in-one design of the Remigo is not only aesthetic: the white aluminum case works like a rudder to help you direct the boat, even without pressing the front or inverted buttons at the top to light the engine. These controls are simple, with 10 power levels in both directions dictated by the number of times you press the buttons. A double pressure of the two buttons will cut the engine, as is the withdrawal of the magnetic touch (or falling over board with it attached to your wrist).
