Ukrainian officials say that a huge attack on Russian drones and missiles in the eastern city of Kharkiv killed at least three people and injured 21, the last of the attacks widespread almost daily.
The dam included aerial slippery bombs that were part of a fierce Russian attack in the three -year war.
The intensity of the Russian attacks in recent weeks, as well as the recent surprise attack by kyiv drones against military aerodromes deep in Russia, seem to have attenuated the hopes that the sides at war could reach a peace agreement anytime soon.
Ukrainian cities have undergone regular bombing since Russia invaded its neighbor in February 2022. The attacks killed more than 12,000 civilians, according to the United Nations.
On Saturday, Ukraine’s Air Force said that Russia had struck 215 missiles and drones overnight, and that the Ukrainian air defenses have shot down and neutralized 87 drones and seven missiles.
Several other regions of Ukraine have also been affected, including the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions, and the city of Ternopil, said Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha in a position on X.
“To put an end to the murder and destruction of Russia, more pressure on Moscow is necessary, as are more steps to strengthen Ukraine,” he said.
Later on Saturday, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that its forces had made strikes with the aid of high -precision weapons and drones on military targets in Ukraine overnight.
“The objective of strikes has been achieved. All the targets designated have been affected,” said the ministry.
Four unmanned Ukrainian boats were also destroyed in the Black Sea, Russian press agencies reported, citing the
Ministry.
However, there was no comments from Moscow on victim relationships in Kharkiv.
The mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, said that strikes had damaged 18 apartment buildings and 13 private houses. Terekhov called it “the most powerful attack” against the city since the start of the large -scale invasion of Russia.
Twice a year, a volunteer team of medical staff went to western Ukraine to treat soldiers and civilians suffering from serious facial wounds in the war. Raphaël Bouvier-Auclair of Radio-Canada visited the Canadian Organization clinic to see the transformations that change life.
Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said that two city districts were struck with three missiles, five air bombs and 48 drones. Among the injured, there was a 14-year-old boy and girl, he added.
In the province of Dnipropetrovsk further south, two women aged 45 and 88 were injured, local governor Serhii Lysak said.
The Russian bombings also killed a couple in their fifties in the city of southern Kherson, near the front lines, reported local governor Oleksandr Prokudin in an article on Facebook.
US President Donald Trump said Russian President Vladimir Putin told him that Moscow would respond to Ukraine’s attack last Sunday against Russian military aerodromes.
Trump also said that it would be better to leave Ukraine and Russia “fight for a while” before separating them and continuing peace.
His comments seemed to be a detour to his often stated calls to arrest war and reported that he could abandon recent peace efforts.
