Ryan Lochte is appreciated by the support he has received after the division of his wife Kayla Rae Reid.
“You just want to thank everyone who wrote the message, handed me, only open weapons. It means a lot to me,” the Olympic, 40, said in his video, which was distributed through his Instagram story on Thursday, June 5th. “Yesterday was a rough day for me, but as always in life, you have to put your foot forward and continue forward.
Lochte also thanked her loved ones, who sent her a thoughtful gift in the midst of a hard time.
“To my other family, who sent me this beautiful card and basket full of candies that my son is now eating,” Lochte shared, while keeping almost an empty pack. “Thank you guys, i love you.”
Earlier this week at Reid, 33, stated that he divorce Lochtte after seven years of marriage.
“Earlier this year, I made a tough decision to stop marriage after deep prayer and reflection,” he wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, June 4. “I like marriage in the highest relationship, so this has been one of the most painful, revealing and challenging seasons of my life. I am hesitant to share until I can do so healing – not fresh, open wounds.”
Reid continued, “Sometimes we encounter experiments that we did not choose or see to come. And then we have to make the most difficult decisions to protect our peace, our children and our future. I have realized that staying not always the most loving decision that someone can make. For me, I was doing love – and for myself.”
Lochte and Reid tied In 2018, the couple had three children: Caide, 7, Liv, 5 and Georgia, 23 months.
After Reid’s message, Lochte broke his silence by their separation.
“This last year has brought major changes For both, because we have come to a difficult decision to stop marriage. I am deeply grateful for the life we built together, and especially the love we share to our three children, “he wrote in the Instagram statement.” Although this decision has not been easy, I believe it is the right step towards peace and well -being for both of us. “
Lochte added that he is “committed to healing, growing and copying carefully and with respect” as he and Reid navigated in their “new chapter”.
