Sean (Diddy) Combs’s sex trafficking trial is nearing its end. Here’s how it played out

The prosecutors of the conspiracy trial of sexual traffic and racketeering of the hip hop sean (Diddy) magnate were rested after calling 34 witnesses to testify in more than six weeks.

The music magnate is responsible for taking advantage of his status to force women – including her ex -girlfriend, the singer R&B Cassie – in abusive sex meetings and the use of violence if they refused.

Prosecutors have cited events of several days powered by drugs that combs call “dressings” as proof of sex traffic and racketeering.

They argued that Combs was based on employees, partners and its business accounts to pilot male workers in Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York, where its staff installed hotel rooms for meetings and was cleaned later.

Later in the afternoon, the defense rested without calling any witness.

Combs lawyers asked the American district judge Arun Subramanian to throw the accusations, arguing that they had not been proven. The judge said he would govern on a later date.

The rapper, producer and founder of Bad Boy Entertainment, 55, pleaded not guilty of sex trafficking and racketeering accusations in the trial. He did not testify for his own defense and his legal team chose not to call none of their own witnesses.

He has been imprisoned since his arrest in September. If he is sentenced, he could obtain at least 15 years and up to life prison.

The fence arguments were temporarily starting on Thursday.

Here are some of the key moments in the trial.

Combs decision not to testify

After the prosecutors rested, Subramanian has directly questioned the combs on his decision not to testify, a standard practice during federal criminal trials, in part to ensure that the accused knows that it is his decision, regardless of what his lawyers told him.

The judge asked Combs how he was going.

“I’m fine, your honor,” he replied. “I want to say thank you, you are doing a great job.”

Combs said that he had “completely” discussed the issue with his lawyers before deciding not to testify and said it was “only my decision”.

He also specified: “This is my decision with my lawyers.”

Cassie fears that Combs publishes bizarre videos

Cassie, whose legal name is Casandra Ventura, was the star witness of the accusation and testified over four days during the first week of the trial.

The 38 -year -old said that Combs had dictated all aspects of panic events.

She said that Combs asked her to do degrading and painful sexual acts with male workers and that she was doing freak-offs every week for a decade, the last one taking place in 2017 or 2018.

She said that even if she hated having drugged sex with foreigners, she could not reject Combs requests because he would make her “resemble a slut” by publishing recordings of monsters.

She testified that she had sometimes taken Liquids IV to recover and finally developed an addiction to opioids because it made her “numb”.

Combs lawyers sought to show the jury that Cassie was a voluntary participant in his sexual lifestyle and said that, although he could be violent, nothing that he made constituted a criminal business.

“ Jane ” participated in frequent

Another former girlfriend, testifying under the pseudonym Jane, fought tears and sobs to tell frequent sexual performances in which she participated with male sex workers to please the combs and keep their three -year relationship alive until her arrest in September.

Jane, who testified for six days during the last week of the trial, said that she had never wanted to have sex with other men, but did to please Combs because she loved her.

Jane described having almost the same experiences as Cassie made from 2021 to August last, although she called them “hotel nights”.

She said that her relationship with Combs began with romance, but later became dependent on sexual performance, especially after Combs began to pay her rent.

The defense insisted that Jane and Combs only engaged in consensual sexual relations and that Jane’s protests in the comics were fueled by jealousy.

Kid Cudi says the car is burned down

Rapper Kid Cudi testified that Combs burst into his Hollywood hills house in 2011 after discovering that he was going out with Cassie and that someone set fire to his car for weeks later.

He said that he had taken Cassie to a hotel in West Hollywood when he received a call from the Combs Assistant, Capricorn Clark, who told him that Combs and a partner were in his house and that they had forced him to accompany them.

CUDI – whose first name is Scott Mescudi – said he called Combs and asked why he was in his house. He said that Combs answered calmly: “I want to talk to you.”

But Cudi said that Combs was not there when he arrived and that he called the police.

A few weeks later, Cudi testified, his Porsche 911 convertible was destroyed by a fire when he was parked in his aisle.

The photos shown at the jury showed a hole cut in the fabric roof of the car. A Molotov cocktail was found in the passenger seat, said Cudi.

The former assistant says that Combs has kidnapped, threatened to kill her

A few days later, Clark said that Combres signaled a weapon while kidnapping it in angry precipitation to find Cudi.

Clark told how they went up to a black climbing Cadillac at the Maison de Los Angeles de Cudi, where Combs and his bodyguard entered the residence.

After the break -in, Clark said that Combs had told her that she should convince Cudi that he was not involved, saying to him: “If you do not convince him, I will kill everything that” punctuated his threat with an explanative.

Cassie’s friend says the combs hung her on the balcony

The court also heard accusations of other violent behaviors.

Bryana Bongolan, Cassie’s friend, testified that Combres was holding her on a balcony on the 17th floor of Cassie’s apartment in Los Angeles.

Bongolan said that she feared that she would fall when she died when she pushed against Combs.

Combs shouted on the test, said Bongolan, believing that he was holding her above the balustrade for 10 to 15 seconds.

Combs feared that the video of Cassie Assault ‘ruin the career’ ‘

The court heard how Combs paid a hotel security officer to hand over surveillance images that showed him violently attacker Cassie in a corridor.

Eddy Garcia, who had worked in an intercontinental hotel in Los Angeles, said on June 3 that Combs had contacted him shortly after the incident and asked for images. Garcia said that Combs had told him that he “would take care of him” if he gave the video to Combs.

The jurors had previously shown a surveillance video of March 2016 from the hotel room where the combs, wearing only a towel, threw Cassie on the ground, hit her and dragged her.

“He was concerned about the fact that this video will be released and that she would ruin his career,” said Garcia, who obtained the immunity from the prosecution to testify.

Garcia said that when he told his boss what Combs said about the video, he said Combs could have it in exchange for $ 50,000. The boss gave Garcia a USB driving with the images to be given to Combs. When Garcia gave him, Combs returned with a brown bag and a silver counter.

CNN had access to the video and broadcast it last year, which led Combs to apologize.
