Searching for radioactive waste in the depths of the Atlantic

For almost five decades, more than 200,000 barrels of radioactive waste were thrown into the frozen depths of the Northeast Atlantic. Today, no one knows precisely where these barrels are, nor in what type of state they are. On June 15, a team of scientists led by France will occur from Brittany in order to map the barrels and assess their impacts on surrounding marine ecosystems.
