Shanté Glover Faces Criticism Over Shocking ‘Temptation Island’ Choice

One of the most talked-about couples on “Temptation Island” this season is 26-year-old Brion and 29-year-old Shanté, who entered the experience hoping to test the strength of their relationship.

The couple, together for a year before the show, had serious trust issues stemming from Brion’s infidelity early on. While Shanté struggled with insecurity, Brion wanted to prove he could maintain platonic relationships with women.  He also made it clear that he desired more excitement in their sex life, even expressing interest in threesomes.

Right from the start, both Brion and Shanté embraced the temptations of the island in different ways.

Brion quickly became flirtatious with the single women, while Shanté let loose in the villa. During the first bonfire, Brion watched footage of Shanté dancing with other guys, admitting he wanted to see more of that energy in their relationship.

However, when it was Shanté’s turn to see Brion’s actions, she was met with a clip of him getting chocolate sauce licked off his body and doing body shots, which was an immediate red flag.

As the season progressed, Brion continued pushing boundaries, even disappearing into his bedroom bathroom with Alex at one point, leaving viewers (and Shanté) wondering what really happened behind closed doors. When she saw the footage at the next bonfire, Shanté was visibly annoyed, pointing out that their goal for coming to the island was for Brion to prove he could simply be friends with women. However, behavior like that didn’t exactly scream “platonic.”

The tension escalated when Temptation Haven was introduced.

The villa had a signal indicating when a contestant used the private area, and when the light went off at the girls’ villa, Shanté broke down in tears, fearing Brion had given in to temptation. As it turned out, he wasn’t the one inside the tent, but her relief was short-lived.

Just minutes later, Brion entered his bathroom with Courtney and Alex, where the trio engaged in a threesome. Despite this, Brion later claimed he had “no regrets” and believed Shanté would respect him for being honest about it.

When Shanté finally watched the footage, she was visibly upset but refused to let Brion and the women see her cry. In their video messages to each other, Brion confessed his love for Shanté, while she expressed disappointment, saying she no longer recognized the man she had been watching in the clips.

After this exchange, Brion scaled back his interactions with the other women and began reflecting on his future with Shanté.

The season’s final episode brought the highly anticipated last bonfire, where Shanté and Brion had to decide whether to leave the island together or part ways for good.

Brion made it clear he wanted to stay with Shanté, but she was visibly conflicted. At one point, she walked off set in tears, needing time to process her emotions. A production crew member encouraged her to listen to her heart and do what was best for her.

When she returned to face Brion, it seemed for a moment that she was about to end their relationship. However, in a surprising turn of events, Shanté ultimately chose to stay with Brion, and the two left the island together.

Since the show wrapped, the couple still follows each other on Instagram, which could be a sign they are still together, at least for now.

After seeing the couple leave the island together, viewers were visibly update with Shanté’s choice, claiming she needs more of a backbone and needs to start standing up for herself.

“Shante taking Brion back after he did that to her is so disappointing,” one viewer expressed. “Especially because he said he knew she would forgive him… Girl STAND UP.”

Someone else chimed in, “Part of the reason Brion treats Shanté the way he does is because he knows she’s gonna still be with him. Shanté needs a backbone. Her self-esteem/worth is in the basement.”

A third claimed, “Sorry, but Shante is annoying. She’s one of those girls who suffer in silence, the understanding girlfriend type.”

“Shante GIRL STAND THE F-CK UP SIS PLEASE THIS MAN IS TRASH,” another X user said after watching the show. “It’s always the pretty ones that don’t know their worth.”
