While Snapchat continues to take Instagram and Tiktok, the company announcement Thursday, it presents a series of new tools and features to facilitate the creation and sharing of content of its platform. The social network is launching a “Timeline publisher” functionality, a new way of creating videos from recorded memories, the possibility of automatic profile reduction stories, and more.
Snapchat says that the new Timeline publisher will offer creators a more intuitive way to directly modify videos on the platform. The Timeline publisher allows you to view your video in a chronological arrangement, so it is easy to cut, move or reorganize clips. Once your sequence is defined, you can add lenses, add music from the Sounds library and use other creative tools. The tool could get rid of the need for users to modify simple videos on third-party platforms, such as Capcut, before publishing them on Snapchat.
The creators will also have access to a new “Create a video” model that allows them to select some memories, choose a song in the Snapchat sound library and choose their favorite model to generate a personalized compilation video. The functionality is deployed worldwide on iOS.
Users will also be able to automatically register their public stories directly directly on their profile to allow people to revisit the content. Snapchat says that functionality allows creators to create a lasting collection of their best memories and keep their contents alive. Of course, this functionality undoubes in a way the goal of the ephemeral element behind the stories, but it could be useful for people who want to preserve their stories.
In addition, Snapchat gives creators access to more perspectives on how their content works in order to allow them to better optimize their publications.
The creators will be able to see the number of viewers who watched their public content for at least 12 days in last month, giving them a better idea of the number of return viewers. They will also be able to see which of their messages and public stories have received the most views in the last 28 days, as well as their total time of view on all content.
In addition, the creators will have an overview of their traffic sources, because they will see views based on the source, which could include the Discover for You, following, projector, research, cat and profile. Finally, they will see the average time that users have spent looking at their projector messages, as well as the average percentage of their projector messages that users have finished watching.
