The son of the princess of the Crown of Norway is suspected of three rapes and 23 other offenses, police announced on Friday.
Marius Borg Høiby, who is the stepson of the future King of Norway, was arrested three times distinct from last year, in August, September and November.
After a 10 -month investigation, Norwegian police have now given prosecutors who decide to file a complaint, police lawyer Andreas Kruszewski said.
Høiby’s lawyer Petar Sekulic said that his client “took the accusations very seriously, but recognizes no reprehensible act in most cases – in particular cases concerning sexual abuse and violence”.
The 28 -year -old man, who has no royal title or official functions, has been investigated since his arrest on August 4, 2024 for suspicion of assault.
In a statementThe Oslo police district said it had done an “in -depth investigation”, with a “large number of witness interviews, several searches and an examination of extensive digital equipment”.
Høiby was questioned several times in the fall of 2024 and spring 2025 and “cooperated with the police,” said the press release.
Among the offenses, the police said that Høiby was suspected, there were four charges of sexually offensive behavior, a chief of abuse in a close relationship and two bodily injury chiefs.
Police have confirmed that some cases involving sexual offenses had been rejected due to the “limitation period and reasons of evidence”.
“I cannot go into the details of the number of victims in the case beyond confirming that this is a two-digit number,” said Kruszewski.
The Royal Chamber of Norway noted in a press release that the case was occurring by the legal system and had nothing to add.
