It is hell on earth “28 years later”. Well, for the failed people in the UK, that is. Danny Boyle’s Post-Apocalyptic Three Quel (who starts his new trilogy) drives the message home that the British islands are all alone when losing the battle to the rage virus. The world has continued without themGiving us a cruel and gloomy review as an alternative timeline where the main real -life events in Britain’s history never happened.
This brings some key details that resonate deeper with the UK’s audience than the rest of the world. One of the most significant plot points is the movie at the end of the movie Jack O’Connell’s controversial villain, Sir Jimmy Crystalwhich is ready to cause problems in the upcoming sequel “28 years later: The Bone Temple”.
Another significant detail is the magnificent form of wood, which occurs in many wide shots during Spike’s dreamy trip to the mainland. This striking monument is a 150 -year -old Sycamore Gap in Northumberland, England, which received a large screen reputation after it was used as “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.” Unfortunately, the tree was cut by vandalism in 2023 (the factors were accused of criminal damage). Although the observations of wood may not mean much to some, it is the core of the second British history, which shows how far “28 years later” has deviated from its own.
In an interview Sky NewsBoyle explained that the Sycamore Gap tree “had already been destroyed by the time we came to the movies” and had to be digitally created for shots “28 years later”. He hoped to create a “great tribute” on an iconic landmark by incorporating it in the film. “We re -created for the same reasons as you can see the queen here,” Boyle explained. “Not all the things that have happened to us in the last 28 years has happened.”
Visiting the now destroyed landmark together with Jimmy Crystal modeling to Jimmy Savila (whose crime never revealed on this timeline) is crucial to the world’s world construction “28 years later”. Talking Variety From these key moments, Garland said: “Very simply Danny and I grown in the era when everything was eager to have certain relationships, and at the moment we are in the era for the last 10 or 15 years, which is very much back.” This explains the nostalgic element “28 years later” in the nightmare, which sometimes makes it a blatant watch. “The movie is worried at some level is the way we look back, there is amnesia and cherry picking,” Garland explains. “There are also things that have been wrong.”
When Spike is now taken under the wing of Jimmy’s Jimmys, there is no story about where his story goes and how far the post -apocalyptic UK “The Bone Temple” is dared. It is a world that is not unlike its own, albeit a bit more angry.
“28 years later: Bone Temple” is scheduled to be released on January 16, 2026.
