Of course, comedy is subjective. There is no one movie that will be generally fun for every person, because comedy is based on social customs, history, politics and a number of other cultural factors that mutate quickly and differ from one neighborhood to another. In fact, what was fun in 2005 may not be as fun in 2025, so time is also the author. And while certain comedies have lasted for centuries – Shakespeare and Moliere are still presented today – some comedies that dates back to just a few decades ago have already been dated. Heck, sometimes the time can be a factor. Midnight’s movie can be more fun than Matinée on Sunday of the same movie.
But there is an objective, scientific way to measure the comedy that is for us: our laughter. If the movie makes us laugh aloud repeatedly, then we can make measurements, right? And if one movie makes us laugh 10 times and the other makes us laugh 30 times, the latter movie can be considered a more fun movie. As such, to determine the most fun movie of all time, you just have to collect a test of test subjects and then expose them to several comedy films by writing how many times they laughed during the show. Then take this amount and, on average, how many times they laughed, in the minute of the movie. A movie with the most laughter and a minute (LPM) would be scientifically funniest ever.
In 2012, Forbes Magazine conducted such a study. The comedy films in the study were determined by a questionnaire in which Lovefilm in London was now a division of Telegraph. This means that all movies are in English.
The test destinations were the panel of Forbes employees, which is open to giggle. After watching the top 10 films in the survey, Forbes was able to reset one picture that sparked the most laughter. That movie was the 1980 Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker scam “Airplane!”
“Aircraft!” is the highest order of Slapstick comedyAlthough you do not know the context of your satire. The film is more or less comic the latest in the 1957 disaster movie called “Zero Hour!” Director Hall Bartlett. Jim Abrahams, Jerry Zucker and David Zucker found the film to be so decorated and absurd that it only takes a little effort to make it a stupid comedy. In fact, both “airplane!” And “zero hour!” The dialogue line “We have to find someone back that cannot only fly this machine, but had no fish for dinner.” Both films apply to characters named Ted Stryker (Dana Andrews in 1957, Robert Hays in 1980), which were former squadrivities during World War II. They both get into a commercial airplane where poisoned fish are served for dinner. Both TEDs must win their war to fly an airplane after the pilot became ill. Both TEDs also try to ruin their relationships with women who try to leave them (Linda Darnell in 1957, Julie Hagerty in 1980).
“Aircraft!” is stone-covered in its editorial, but it also has scenes about jumping a person’s heart, falling from watermelons and lloyds, which are high in modeling adhesive. There is also a blown automatic pilot who … Well, I’ll let you see it myself.
Forbes measurements, “Airplane!” Gave three LPMs or one laugh every 20 seconds. However, the Forbes study does not appear to distinguish between a small giggle and a gut-creeping cry. All laughter seems to be equally valuable in research. Nevertheless, three LPMs are impressive in any way. If one is known for Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker comedies, it is known that they tried to unload as many jokes as possible. This philosophy has no wonder “airplane!” woke up as many laughs as it.
The Lovefilm survey asked for its survey to classify which films found the most fun, and the film that was most consistent with number 1 was Terry Jones 1979 “Monty Python’s Life of Brian,” “The wild scam of the Bible epic of one of the most well -known comedy groups. The strangely forbes in English” The least 10 minutes of laughter.
The second funniest movie in the Forbes list was Todd Phillips’s 2009 comedy “Hanger” Deserves 2.4 lpm. That film applies to a candidate parties that have gone wrong, following the group’s Ne’er-do wells after they wake up all night long for the year they have no memory. The film follows their research on what happened the previous night. The third funniest was the second Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker movie, their 1988 Police movie “The Naked Gun: Police Squad! Zaz is the only filmmakers whose films appear twice in the list (” naked weapon “got 2.3 lpm.)
In the declining order, the funniest films were Greg Mottola’s “Superbad” (2007) with 1.9 LPM, Larry Charles “” Borat! Cultural students from America to benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan “(2006) 1.7 LPM, Adam McKay’s” Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy “(2004). and Edgar Wright’s “Shaun of the Dead” (2004), 1.4 lpm.
The recent bias of people removed can be seen. Five films date back to the 2000s. One comes from the 70s, two from the 80s, one from the 90s and the other from the ’10 centuries. It is clearly not as thorough to sampling as, for example /Movie’s own list of all -time 113 best comedy. But parameters “airplane!” There is still a clear winner.
