It’s now or never for the rebels of Gilead, a narrative urgency that’s long been used to propel The Handmaid’s Talebut now feels like a promise as the show enters its sixth and final season. Today’s new trailer for the Margaret Atwood adaptation offers further hope that Elisabeth Moss’ June will at last see the oppressive regime that’s made life hell for so many—including herself; frankly, it’s a miracle she’s survived this long—topple once and for all.

Her key allies, including Luke (O-T Fagbenle) and Moira (Samira Wiley), are back to help her fight; the trailer also hints at a fascinating storyline for the ever-complicated Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski), as well as another powerful turn from Ann Dowd as Aunt Lydia.

Here’s the official synopsis: “In the final season of The Handmaid’s TaleJune’s unyielding spirit and determination pull her back into the fight to take down Gilead. Luke and Moira join the resistance. Serena tries to reform Gilead while Commander Lawrence and Aunt Lydia reckon with what they have wrought, and Nick faces challenging tests of character. This final chapter of June’s journey highlights the importance of hope, courage, solidarity, and resilience in the pursuit of justice and freedom.”
