When was the last time you were motivated to find in the sky and feel inspiration, full of miracle and hope for the future? If you have been or close to an adult after the turn of the century, it has probably been a good time. In retrospect, it is very unfortunate that the tragic attacks on September 11, 2001 were done correctly when the superhero movie began to take root, as this meant that the beloved characters brought to movie shows had to be viewed through a granular skeptical and suspicion of lens. Although this did wonders for some characters who either came directly into politics and morality (such as X-men) or who often wrestled with their darker nature (such as “Spider-Man 3” and Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” trilogy), this approach was not one size.
Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” is an apote How wrong the “dark and granular” approach to superhero can come. It is fascinating alone if Superman, his myth and his meaning to us people if such a crypton could ever be in reality. As a Superman movie, and especially as the retrospective start of the cinema universe, the film is a slog, an emotional equivalent of Ay Rand, who makes Friedrich Nietzsche’s writings an audiobook. It is a movie that is so full in its own misleading “what if” the thesis that its sharp visual references on September 11 are less thought-provoking and unwanted.
Today, James Gunn’s “Superman” latest trailer fell, and as the peek of all other creeps in the movie, it seems to be the perfect opposite “Man of Steel”. This does not mean that the pendulum has turned completely in the other direction, and we get some hard nonsense in feeding power, which would have been better suited to the character’s mid-20th century version. Instead, taking Gunn Supyli is a remarkably balanced, refreshing and exciting ridiculous, showing that the character has much more than some people have thought after his dismantling in Snyder’s hands.

Undoubtedly, “Man of Steel” fans, Henry Cavill Superman and Snyder Future social media in the figures for Gunn and “Superman”, as they have been for several months, dropped from the first review of the new movie. This latest trailer does not do much to suppress the herd, and be frank that cares; Those humans ended up long ago. What this trailer can do for others who are on the fence in the Gunn’s approach to KAL -ELI is to show them that there is quite a little more in stock than just a superman with a friendly installation, Spiffy Zoomer surgery and a cute dog.
Indeed, quite a few, even more than in here Previous “Superman” trailers and TV places We have seen: Yes, there are more materials about SUPES battles that fight in the midst of the metropolis and save some children in the war in the war, but there are other characters in the DC world that seems to be in the key, as well as more Nicholas Houl’s Lex Luthoria and his misery. At the same time, David Corenswet’s superman seems to be a Quippy in a truly naturalistic way, while Rachel Brosnan’s Lois Lane has not just moved aside; He piloted some space! Sign up!
In addition to the promise of all the alien’s adventure, this trailer confirms the tonal approach to the nominal characters, and it is most reminiscent of “All-Star Superman”, one of the biggest cartoons of all time. Written by Grant Morrison and the Frank Quifd series, the 12-Noste series is a remarkable encapsulation of the character’s width, from the Goody Two-Shoes symbol to the Americana symbol to the world’s twisted outside, uncertain of his place in the universe. Quifly and Morrison’s Superman is both bright and multi -layered, while while Gunn, Corenswet and other “Superman” group saw the book as one of their most important inspirations It is also true for the film (as they were in the event I attended in December), that this tone balance is something that Gunn has shown to be skilled, especially through his “Guardians of the Galaxy” trilogy to Marvel Studios. These films do a significant job to be optimistic without being caught or too sentimental, and it seems that Gunn has also brought this approach to “superman”.
More than anything else, this new “Superman” seems to be more than just “Man of Steel” and the last several movies that the superhero appeared. It feels like an honest character, his supportive actor and his universe, warts and all. For those who may claim that it is not quite a hopeful Superman now, I appeal to Jor -El’s 1978 “Superman: The Movie” movie: we can be big people; We want to be. We are missing only the light shows the way. We have not had tons of hope in our adult life for the last 25 years, that’s true. But I have hope for “superman”, and so far that’s enough.
“Superman” hits theaters on July 11, 2025.
