This New Li-Fi Bridge System Promises To Be Big for Broadband

HAS The 2025 World Mobile Congress in Barcelona In March this year, Purelifi and Solace Power announced a new and innovative product: The XC bridge.

The objective of the XC bridge is to activate fixed wireless access providers – including Home Internet 5Gother Cellular high speed suppliers And Satellite internet – to deploy wide -band services more quickly and more easily to customers. Very recently, Purelifi has established a partnership with the Digital Service Provider, of the TelecomTo improve deployment for 5G and fixed wireless connections.

Exploit the power of Li-Fi technologyWho uses light signals to transmit data, the XC bridge promises a low latency and the potential for downloading speeds up to 5,000 megabits per second. To better understand what it means for you as a home internet user, it is useful to know how this system works.

So how does it work?

How will this bridge system really work? It consists of small interior and exterior units that attach to a window. The external unit receives the cell signal or satellite and, using Li-Fi, transfers which signal through the glass to the indoor unit, which essentially diffuses this data to a Wi-Fi router at home. The XC bridge can provide up to 20 watts of power and 1 Gbit / s of data via a window. As this is a wireless solution, it can eliminate a long installation process and facilitate wide -band deployment for Internet suppliers and consumers. And because the receiver is outside the house, it can make high speed at home 5G viable even in areas where the signal is not the best.

“The enthusiastic response of our collaborations with the world’s main brands of telecommunications validates the transformer potential of the Bridge XC system”, wrote Alistair Banham, CEO of Purelifi, in a press release.

“This latest technology is about to revolutionize the economy of the deployment of FWA and high speed worldwide, making high-speed connectivity more accessible, affordable and efficient for large-band suppliers, ultimately improving services and user satisfaction,” he said. “The market clearly goes to Li-Fi because it will resolve the challenges of today’s and tomorrow’s connectivity.”

The partnership between Purelifi and Telecom will help simplify the outdoor deployment of the equipment of the premises of consumers of the BRIDGE XC (CPE).

“Buildings naturally defy 5G coverage due to materials that considerably reduce the signals of Sub6 GHz and Mmwave,” writes the Teleem Alblooshi Teleem technology director on a press release.

“Bridge XC offers a solution that not only eliminates these barriers but also supplier users with quick installation and reliable performance.”

Where is this technology available?

A spokesperson for Purelifi told CNET that Bridge XC is still in his trial period. However, consumers in the United States will be among the first to have access. The spokesperson has shared that the system can help fill the gap for the many fixed wireless operators who are struggling to provide wireless internet connectivity to the Americans.

“American carriers encounter problems with sufficient network capacity, and Bridge XC can help them solve this by moving the 5G modem outside,” said Purelifi spokesperson.

At that time, T-Mobile announced in December that more than a million users are on the waiting list of the internet service at 5G.

Many rural communities have minimal access to adequate internet connections. In areas where Cellular Internet Connections increase to help fill the wide-band gap for rural Americans, this LIFFI solution can help solve network capacity problems among large-band suppliers.

What are the advantages of using this technology?

Li-Fi promises high speeds and lower latency than Wi-Fi, and the XC bridge also boasts of other positive points:

  • A simpler and more profitable installation process: This product aims to facilitate the lives of wide -band companies and to be a faster and cheaper option for customers. (More details on this subject in a little.)
  • Faster and low latency speeds: The Bridge XC system can promise multi-cligabit speeds up to 5 Gbit / s. Overall, Li-Fi technology will have lower latency than Wi-Fi.
  • Energy efficient: Unlike Wi-Fi, which uses radio waves,Li-Fi technology uses light signals to transmit data. The Bridge XC system specifically uses close infrared light.
  • Increased security: Li-Fi technology is already used among organizations in the defense and government sectors.

The installation of the XC bridge could be more profitable than the installation of the internet by cable or fiber. This wireless system works as an outdoor CPE or a wireless networking device which can be easily installed outside the house, eliminating the need to drill holes or pass cables through the walls.

The installation will also be fast and easy. The system uses almost infrared light and wireless power links via a window. Purelifi’s spokesperson told me that the configuration did not take as little as five minutes.

It should be noted that Li-Fi technology is not without defects. One of the main criticisms is its limited range, probably why technology is not yet common. Li-Fi requires a line of view to light signals, so your connection will be confined to closed spaces.
