Three Palestinians were slaughtered after dozens of Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian village in occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian authorities.
Kafr Malik video sequencesNear Ramallah, Wednesday evening showed a car and a house on fire and Palestinians who run away while shots were agreed.
The Israeli army said that the forces deployed on the scene had found settlers and villagers throwing stones. He added that several “terrorists” opened the fire and threw stones on the forces, which turned the fire and identified sure. They also arrested five Israelis.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that settlers fired from the villagers in their homes during what he called their “terrorist assault”.
The ministry also said that Israeli forces have prevented the ambulance teams from reaching the injured and obstructed firefighters from entering the village for several hours.
Israel has built around 160 colonies sheltering some 700,000 Jews since he occupied the West Bank and East Jerusalem – Land Palestinians wish, with Gaza, for a hopeful future state – in the 1967 Middle East war. It is estimated that 3.3 million Palestinians live alongside them.
The vast majority of the international community considers the illegal colonies under international law – a position supported by an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) last year – although Israel disputes this.
Shortly after the Kafr Malik incident, there was another attack in the Palestinian community of Dar Fazaa, near the village of Taybeh.
The Israeli Human Rights group Btelem said three people had been injured and that three cars were burned. He posted video surveillance images showing a group of at least 10 masked men setting fire to a car and throwing stones.
“The violence and the unleashing of the colonists, under the protection of the occupation army, is a political decision of the Israeli government, implemented by the colonists,” wrote Palestinian vice-president Hussein Al-Sheikh on X.
“The behavior and decisions of the Israeli government push the region to an explosion. We call on the international community to intervene urgently to protect our Palestinian people.”
There has been a strong increase in the number and severity of the settlers’ attacks in the West Bank since the attack on Hamas against the south of Israel on October 7, 2023, which sparked the war in Gaza.
The UN recorded 487 settlers attacks with loss or material damage in the first four months of this year, including 122 in April. At least 181 Palestinians would have been injured by settlers in the attacks.
Organizations and witnesses to human rights say that the Israeli soldiers and police are held frequently while the colonists attack the Palestinian towns and villages.
The expansion of the regulations also increased sharply, because a coalition coming from the right pro-settler led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took office in late 2022.
Until now, he has decided to establish 49 new colonies and to start the process of legalizing seven settlers who have been built without authorization from the government, according to the Watchdog of Israeli Antisetally Peace.
Last month, Israeli ministers declared that 22 new colonies had been approved on the length and width of the West Bank, greeting it as a decision which “prevents the creation of a Palestinian State which would endanger Israel”.
In a separate incident on Wednesday, a 15-year-old Palestinian boy was shot by Israeli forces in the city of Al-Yamoun, near Jenin, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.
The Israeli army said “terrorists” threw explosive devices to its forces during an operation in Al-Yamoun. Subsequently, they approached while holding additional explosives and the forces responded by opening fire, he added.
The UN says that at least 949 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and the settlers in the West Bank since October 7, 2023, because the Israeli forces have intensified their raids through the territory, claiming that they are trying to discover deadly Palestinian attacks against the Israelis.
In January, Israeli forces launched a large -scale operation against Palestinian armed groups in northern West Bank.
The UN Human Rights Head said in April that the operation had destroyed whole refugee and makeshift medical sites, and moved more than 40,000 Palestinians, who had been said not to return home for a year.
