Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree | hands-on preview

Bandai Namco introduced itself to the summer game days with a Brownie Rogue-Lite game: Towa and the guards of the sacred tree.

The 2D Action-Advent title made its debut on consoles and PC in September.

It is a Snape-Lite per button in a mystical kingdom where the ancient forces threaten Shinju, an idyllic village at the foot of a sacred living tree. You must fight with a few associated warriors and control them with a single game controller. You must forge weapons and links.

Towa is a priestess, a child of the gods and the protector of the wonderful village which is at the base of a living sacred tree. The village was her house and she lived for centuries among the villagers.

But peace and happiness have been shattered by the evil god Magatsu, who spreads his miasma in land. And from this poisoned mist, the beasts of Maga Ori have emerged. The evil animals claimed more land and approached the village.

Towa must recruit eight different warriors from the village – Children of Prayer. They granted special employees and swords. The Warriors include resolute Blade Master Rekka, the virtuous researcher Nishiki and a few others.

Before each quest, you choose which one of them will be your Tsurugi (the main fighter with a sword) or Kagura (the support fighter with staff). When you enter each area, you Magi Or beasts materialize and you have to attack. But you should avoid damage to you rush. The action is therefore very fast.

Hit a lot and shoot to escape.

I found that it moved so quickly that I had to focus and avoid panicking when the beast came after me. The use of my special powers at the right time had a lot. Of course, if you die, you should start again. It’s a red-bed, that’s for sure.

Whenever you are defeated, you return to the village and can choose different warriors for your next attempt. But your progress stays with you. The priestess goes back in time and allows you to try again.

The art of hand -style style character and pictorial decorations are beautiful and rooted in oriental mysticism. The soundtrack of the music comes from the composer Hitoshi Sakimoto.

The game comes out on September 19 and you can pre -order it now. It will be released on the PS5 switch, Xbox Series X / S, Steam and Nintendo.

As you fight and you get started, you can receive a grace, such as an increase in force, a drifting cloud strike, a cloud rendering slice or a editorial cloud attack.
