Steve Collins, the CTO of the developer of the Unity game engine, withdrew, confirmed a company representative in Techcrunch.
He joins unity Barely six months ago after being CTO of King, the mobile games company behind Candy Crush.
According to Unity, Collins made the decision to leave the company of his own will.
“We can confirm that Steve Collins has decided to leave the unit for personal reasons,” said a company representative. “We are grateful for his contributions. While we continue our transformation, we are convinced that our world class technological team will continue to advance the strategy. ”
Unity has faced many internal conflicts in recent years. In the fall of 2023, the company announced controversial changes to its pricing model which has rapped the developer community. Although some of these changes have been fell, the CEO of the company John Ricciello resigned therefore. Months later, the unit licensee 25% of its staff, amounting to 1,800 jobs.
Although Aity now has a certain distance from these events, some game developers remain suspicious of the company.
The departure of Collins is not necessarily linked to the difficulties of Unity, but another executive reshuffle could prove to be disruptive.
