US deploys fighter jets, ships to the Middle East as Israel-Iran conflict escalates

The United States has deployed additional fighter planes and refueling of oil tankers in the Middle East to protect staff and facilities, US officials said on Tuesday, while the conflict between Israel and Iran is entering its sixth day. Despite a strong support for Israel, the United States has so far avoided the military direct participation in the conflict.
