President of the Federal Reserve Jerome Powell Requests his testimony as half -yearly monetary policy to the leaders of the Congress, from Tuesday by an appearance before the Committee of Financial Services of the Chamber.
In Prepared remarksPowell noted the “solid” state of the American economy, but said that concerns persist on the president of the impact Donald TrumpThe prices will be on inflation.
“Policy changes continue to evolve and their effects on the economy remain uncertain,” he said. Powell added that he and his colleagues from the Federal Open Market Committee are “well placed to wait to find out more about the probable course of the economy before considering any adjustment to our political position”.
Trump and other administration officials reprimanded the Fed so as not to reduce rates. Referring to Powell, Trump called on Congress leaders to work “that very stupid and lasting person”, in a social post of truth early on Tuesday.
