“What if I fail again?”


In case you have missed my email a few weeks ago, Steve asked me to write a more targeted fitness and nutrition content for the rebellion.

And since then, I have received a ton of emails from people around the same thing: a lack of belief that they can In fact Change work this time! I bet you can tell:

“The biggest challenge – lose confidence in the process and myself.”

“Having trouble believing that being consistent will really help and be afraid that no matter what I do, I will fail.”

“I’m afraid of failing, I try not to set up to fail, but everything seems so intimidating. I know all the words for the” good “state of mind, but I cannot find the will / the energy / the desire to go do anything after work.”

These fears are very, very normal. (Although it makes them no less zero to manage!)

So what do we do when we feel stuck and frightened overwhelming Is it all feeling?

💡 The most important thing

Although each story is different, there is one thing that I have noticed that helps you really have more chances of success:

Building momentum early – Then protect this momentum.

The first victories facilitate the rest of the trip.

And of course, an early victory might seem to see the scale move or become stronger in the gymnasium.

But these things are results that come from weeks or even month Later, after having done “the thing” regularly. It is not useful when we feel uncertain and outdated.

This is why I like to start by following and celebrating the effort.

Choose 1-2 reproducible actions that you can practice every day:

Each action is a victory, which is a small sign of progress.

And if we can recognize and celebrate each action, it starts to create proof that “I am the type of person who can do it, even when it is difficult”.

And this little hope?

This may be enough to continue to cross difficult parts.

👨‍🔬 A real example

Let’s take my Ben client, for example. He was in this same boat when we started working together.

  • Super work schedule with an hour’s trip in each direction
  • 4 young children at home
  • Had a recent fear of health that made him realize that it was time to make a change
  • I don’t know where to start, and really afraid that it was another attempt he tried and failed

So we talked about all these things openly – The real constraints of his time and his energy, the fear that it would not work, and his hope for a future where he felt better and that the physical form did not feel so difficult to respect.

And then we chose a few things that we thought could be a good starting point.

✅ 10 minutes walk during her lunch break

✅ A list of essential orders in restaurants around his work – so he would always have a good option, even in pinch

✅ Push-ups of the counter each time he was brushing his teeth.

And although these actions may seem Small, they had a disproportionate impact. They allowed us to strengthen consistency and practice to overcome obstacles first, so we could worry about optimizing the results later.

And this is where the real magic occurs – not just in physical change, but in the state of mentality:

“I am the kind of person who presents himself.”

“I can trust myself to follow.”

“I know how to get back on the right track when life occurs.”

Ask One of our most efficient customersAnd they will say that the biggest change was not only in their bodies.

Their biggest change was actually in the way they thought On the physical form, the habits and what they believed could become.

🕳️ The trap

When we start by trying to optimize, do everything “perfectly” from the start, it may seem that we are drowning and that we cannot follow.

This simply reinforces the belief that we are unable to make changes. That we are only one of the people for whom “this thing does not work for”.

This is the exact trap that we are trying to avoid!

Of course, everyone’s starting point is different. You may be able to jump directly into a training routine for several days a week, or more aggressive nutrition changes.

The goal is not to force you to take less than what you can – is to make sure you can balance “difficult” with “feasible” so that you can create a belief in yourself and in the process.

Quick advance of two years, and Ben’s routine seems very different from where we started.

  • He is now doing a 4x / week force training in the morning before work
  • He goes through periods when he follows his calories and macros, and others where we adopt a more relaxed approach with a general accent on obtaining many proteins, fruits and vegetables every day
  • It prioritizes sleep and obtains more than 8,000 steps each day

While Ben has become stronger, lost more than 30 pounds and saw his blood markers improve – it all started with the most important thing: the creation of the momentum.

🎬 Where to start?

So where does that leave you today? Here’s how I would approach.

✅ Recognize the real challenges and constraints on your time and energy.

It is not a “rah-rah” approach to ignore all difficult things. Recognize that it is normal and normal to feel this. (Steve has just written on the Concept “opinion and name” here.)

✅ Start with practice – not perfection.

Focus on a reproducible action (like a short force session or two meals proteins), not just the result you want. Think about it as practical. You will not be perfect. You will make mistakes. And that is one of them.

✅ Create visual proof of your efforts.

In our coaching program, customers check the tasks every day and we can see the visible progress of their efforts.

If you don’t have a coach, we like to use something we call it Brilliant pot::

Place a marble (or a paper clip, or a room) in a pot each time you do something aligned with your goals.

It’s a way of see Your consistency and progress, even before the mirror or the scale reflects it.

✅ Celebrate the small victories.

Have you walked today?

Consciously eaten?

Sautéed the spiral everything or nothing after a difficult day?

It is a victory that deserves to be recognized. The process conduit to the result.
