The ASB has become a leader in the manufacture of squash curb and has maintained this position for decades, including an introduction in the mid -2000s of a new surface and glass surface configuration which has become the standard for squash competitions in the world.
Christof joined the company to succeed his father as CEO in 2012, and ASB began to focus on LED surfaces. The first product of this type was a simple floor screen called “ASB Multisports” which could switch between brands for various rigid zone sports such as basketball, volleyball and handball. In 2015, the company also developed “ASB Lumiflex”, the more complete LED display court that I dribbled in Orlando.
The company focused on the official FIBA approval, the world’s basketball organization, during the COVVI-19 pandemic, and it succeeded in 2022 when the FIBA modified the rules for official admissible play areas to include glass in addition to traditional wood. The first official ASB FIBA event was the Women’s World Cup under 19 in 2023.
Recent customer installations include European Basketball teams Bayern Munich and Panathinaikos, who both played all their home matches during the 2024-25 season on ASB Courts; NBA ALL-STAR Weekend 2024 in Indiana, which used ASB for several events, including DUNK competitions and three points; The “Big Blue Madness” event at the University of Kentucky in 2024; No more several other teams or Collegial College and Collegiales in several sports.
The possibilities of commercial engagement and fans abound with this technology, which opens the court as a massive virgin canvas. Part of the time, the surface appears as a traditional parquet playing surface, with realistic images of wooden panels. Suddenly, however, he can turn into something else.
When free throws are shot in a basketball match, for example, most players tend to spend 45 to 60 seconds standing on one side of the field. ASB customers can use the available space on the other side of the ground to say, display a graphic on the shooter’s free launch percentage – with the logo of a brand partner who accompanies it.
“This surface allowed us to completely reinvent the way we connect with fans and how we bring value to our business partners,” Thanos Bichtas, marketing manager for Panathinaikos. “Whether it is dynamic intros with tailor -made court animations or live visual effects that react to large parts, we now offer a level of visual narration that transforms the arena into an interactive experience.
Bichtas says the court has become a high impact platform for the brand’s visibility. “And above all, that does not disturb the experience of fans; that improves it.”

During my visit, I was shown a series of activities adapted to children who could transform these courts into educational poles during class hours, renderings on a large scale of dinosaurs and sea creatures to a functionality that allows children to design labyrinths to cross. Bichtas says that Panathinaikos has already used its ASB court to host a number of events, from brand activations to basketball skills clinics for fans, in particular. Christof, an enthusiast of Kart, plans to configure the whole racetrack on one of the ASB courts in the near future.
“If you look at the infrastructure of an arena, it costs around 250 to 350 million euros,” says Babinsky. “If you put our floor in there, this represents about 1% of the overall budget more. But having this floor there will allow the arena to be used much more often, because suddenly, you do not have an arena used for a home game every two weeks. No, you can have children in there on Monday morning.”
