Twitch streamer Pokimane recently took to TikTok and shared her “2025 achievements”, signifying each achievement with a candle placed in a cake. She took her viewers through the changes and mental shifts she went through over the year to better herself and protect her mentality. These examples include making it a point to meet family, saying “no” more, and interrupting people.
He nods his head opened the video by talking about a “close friend” she became estranged from in 2025 due to the mental distress they were causing her:
“This year, I completely cut someone out of my life who was a close friend, but who was lying to me, lying about me, generally causing me so much emotional turmoil that I needed a lot of therapy. But after I cut him off, I didn’t message him once.”
She then explained how she made the conscious decision to step away from social media drama, especially when it comes to “one-sided beefs”:
“This year I haven’t had a single Twitter fight with any of the crazy losers who can’t keep my name out of their mouths. They can take on their one-sided beef on their own in the new year.”
The streamer also developed neglecting offers, saying no more often, and posting content she’s passionate about:
“This year, I’ve been so much better at saying no, whether it’s events, going out, or people wanting me to do things that I just don’t really want to do. I’m shedding a lot of my people-pleasing tendencies, and I’m so proud of myself for that. This year, I’ve been posting, streaming, and creating content when I really want to, instead of feeling the need to follow this endless rat race that’s happening online.”
Finally, she spoke about the importance of meeting family:
“This year, I planned quarterly trips to visit family. Instead of feeling that looming feeling of guilt about not seeing them enough, I always knew when I would see them next, and that gave me something to look forward to. I started because that’s the most important thing.”
Controversial Twitch became a Kick streamerMatthew “Mizkif,” shared his thoughts on Pokimane’s 2025 recap, suggesting his announcements were “performative”:
“It’s so performative… It’s so performative.”
He added that even though he doesn’t like Pokimane, her achievement video may do more damage than healing:
I don’t hate Poki at all. It was all so unnecessary. Did his therapist tell him to make this video?… It seems like this isn’t something that would help you in therapy; It probably knocks your socks off…”
Furthermore, while discussing her time in New York, Pokimane suggested that “the most attractive men” in the city “I happen to be gay“.
