On the “We In Miami” podcast, Wayans rejected the title of “spokesperson” for fathers of transgender children, insisting that it is his “natural instinct” to protect his 25-year-old son. “People can judge and say what they want, but at the end of the day, it’s my child,” he said.
“And I’m going to love my baby, no matter what anyone says, and he should be allowed to maintain his anonymity and enjoy his life exactly the way he wants.”
Wayans went on to say that he is not in the business of persuading his children to be something they are not through outdated and embarrassing methods. “You can’t cast someone out as gay. You can’t hypnotize someone into not being transgender. You have to accept them and love them,” he said.

Wayans began speaking out about her relationship with her trans son in 2024, explaining that it was difficult to accept it at first. However, after a week of reflection, Wayans came back to reality, saying his child is still worthy of love, regardless of how he identifies. “At the end of the day, in my heart, the only thing that matters to me is that my child is happy,” he said in a previous interview, according to The explosion.
Wayans then made headlines after sparking controversy with an LGBTQ+-inspired photoshoot in honor of Pride Month. “Happy PRIDE to all my LGBTQ+ peoples. Did a photoshoot with the great photographer @parrish_lewis dope pic. PS I’m STRAIGHT… Well according to my kid a CISGENRE man. I love and support my peoples,” he captioned the photo.

Social media users weighed in on Wayans’ recent statements regarding his desire to protect his son from hate, with one praising the actor for supporting his child in such a cruel world. “This is love. Fight and love one another,” they wrote. Other users also chimed in, calling the artist an “amazing father” and sharing their love for him. “Love your kids no matter what,” someone else wrote. “Marlon is the father of the century.”
Meanwhile, other commenters weren’t as positive, expressing disappointment with the “Don’t Be A Menace” star for promoting an “agenda.” One user wrote: “Bad dad and calling him legendary is wild. » Another user commented: “Shut up bitch.” Someone else posted: “The devil is coming [to] collect fame in Hollywood.

Wayans’ support for his child is unsurprising, as he has battled trolls and other celebrities for his stance in support of his son and the entire queer community. However, he is not bothered by the criticism and hesitant support. “I’m going to love my baby…I’m a father and I’m always going to defend him,” he said, according to The explosion. “I will always protect them. I will always respect them. And no one can ever say anything to me.” Wayans blasted the “petty” people who left him behind, saying they had only been replaced by “150” more positive supporters.

According to a report from ThemWayans had an explosive argument with rapper Soulja Boy online after the musician made careless comments about the actor’s son.
Their feud began after Wayans blasted rappers performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration, saying, “I mean, Soulja Boy, he got canceled.”
“Soulja Boy better go get that check,” he added. “I don’t think he’s had a hit since ‘Youuuu,'” referring to the rapper’s 2007 hit single.
Soulja Boy didn’t just sit there quietly, he fought back, calling the actor a “bitch” before coming to pick up his child.
“Isn’t your son a trans who sucks,” he wrote in a since-deleted post. “This fucking shit runs in the family huh? @MarlonWayans no wonder you like dressing up like a slut, it’s in your blood.”

Wayans didn’t stoop that low in his response, reminding Soulja Boy that being “transphobic” can get him canceled. “Lucky for you, you don’t have a career. Apparently you’ve BEEN canceled for the last 17 years. Crank, that was 2007. We’re waiting,” Wayans finished.
